Dude, if you get the JRSC and BBK you will kill the SI's you speak of unless they are FI as well. I had an 00' SI and 02' SI that I traded for my SVTF. I know what they will run stock and modified. You will walk on any stock or bolt on SI with the JRSC & BBK. I believe I have seen 185 WHP with that set up on a Std. Zetec.

A BBK plus supporting mods could probably drop that into the 5's.

Now that sounds like what I am looking for. 185 hp, isn't that still around the ballpark of what the manual transmission can handle? I think I read somewhere it's meant for 170, but 185 probably won't kill it you think?

Im pretty sure the tranny will handle a lot more than that. The clutch may not last long though.
 
The MTX-75 is rock solid. Your clutch and flywheel will need attention, as well as your differential for putting down the power, though.
 
I say fi your worried about "kills" perhaps you should not be on the road? I don't know about you, but, I am already tired of all the ricers that have to rap their crappy exhaust at me. I don't want that stereotype and I like my cheap insurance.

Go to the track to have some safe fun. Stay off the roads if your going to race.

That said, if you want fast, maybe powerworks would be the way to go? I am going JRSC due to the fact that 5k is a lot to spend, building it up piece by piece is more viable for me. I also plan to do clutch/gears/flywheel/diff shortly after I do the blower.

Well, I respect your opinion, but if I am going to FI, I am going to enjoy the hell out of it. I don't plan on spending 3 grand plus 2 grand in upgrades to use it as a weekend racer. And if you don't like the 4 banger scene, then why do you own a focus?

If you are going to spend 5000 on HP/TQ that do it right and buy the focus-power turbo kit

What is it with the blower mentality and the 0-60 bit , How many races are only 60 foot [race]

True, but is it CARB legal in california? And does the focus-power kit include the engine extras needed to support the turbo? If it did and does pass california smog, I would definitly take the turbo.

So you plan to enjoy the hell out of it, even if you get hurt, or, hurt some one? Please say off the road. You do not sound like a mature individual, and, as for why do I own a focus? I wanted MPG. If I wanted speed, I wouldn't even consider a focus, I would have gone straight for something like a lightning, and, even after you put your blower on your focus, I would still pass you in stock form w/o trying. Seems you are really concerned about speed. Go buy a crotch rocket.[thumb]
 
I feel ya, have fun with your car everywhere.
I stomp on my focus all over the place, but never at times when others can be affected. (fingers crossed)
I hate rice rev's too- everyone does.

Yeah, exactlly. I don't want to hurt anyone and I don't wany any tickets. So, I am pretty careful and don't do anything crazy, but at the same time I'm going to have some fun beating SI's.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about 0-60mph. [;)]
