Well, chrome aside I much prefer the entire front look of this versus the current Mk3 versions. I'm not bugging on the chrome like many of the younger guys are but then the whole chrome thing seems to be age dependent. As one of the older guys here I came from the generations that loved chrome but I wasn't all that in love with the chrome look. The younger guys seem to hate chrome so I guess I'm somewhere in the middle.

It will be interesting to see how it looks with the chrome grill colored as many do with the ribs on the current Mk3.

Nice, but a bit too much chrome IMO.
I am sure many in Europe will agree with your dislike for so much chrome, and will order the Sports package - available for all body types, available only for Titanium,
- front and rear brake calipers red
- body-colored big spoiler
- fog lights in glossy black edging
- body-colored front and rear aprons and skirts
- body colored "lip" of the front bumper
- gloss black rear diffuser
- glossy black upper and lower front grille,

VoilĂ , de-chrome'd [thankyou]
It is great that in Europe Ford offers the consumer so much choice.
Makes shopping much more enjoyable to be able to get what you "prefer"

If I could have that wagon with the 1.6L (or 2.0 I suppose) turbo for under $20k out the door, I'd keep it until the wheels fell off. I only paid $16k for my 2013 SE hatch with the winter and sports packages - heated powered leather seats etc ($22.5k MSRP). So $20k does not seem unrealistic.

In my market the wagons is only $600.00 USD more then the 5 door hatch, so it seem realistic. We never get $6,500 discounts on Focus though.

The wagon that sold here until 2007 were around $2000 more expensive supposedly (according to msg threads) - which is why nobody bought them. People here want small SUVs instead (sit up higher and AWD availability), and manufactures likely make more profit on them.
Not sure I believe that however as I saw window stickers (in advertisements for used wagons) and some sold for $16k new. If they have low mileage, they sell for at least $8000 used, and they sell quickly. I gave up trying to find one. They kept selling before I could go look at them (they were usually 150+ miles away).

Yep, this site says around $17k new: http://autos.jdpower.com/research/Ford/Focus/2007/Wagon/index.htm
I've seen them advertised for as high as $10-12k used. Old ladies often own them here and just drive it around town, so you can find them from time to time with very low miles, often in estate sales or for sale by the kids.

If you like chrome, get a 1958 Buick. I think it had the most chrome of any factory car ever made.
Though if you Google chrome cars. plenty of people have chromed the entire body of thier cars.. Including Justin Bieber..

Candy Red paint never went away in Europe.

In Europe the Focus with the 1.6L Ti-VCT 125hp will be the only Focus still offered with the dry clutch DCT Powershift.
The 1.0L 125hp EcoBoost & 1.5L 150hp & 182hp EcoBoost as far as automatic transmission will be paired with the 6F35 6 speed transmission.
The 6F35 transmission will be late availability with the 1.5L EcoBoost in March 2015.
The 6F35 automatic tranny is the same used in the new Escape and Fusion.

As far as I know the dry clutch DCT remains to paired with the 2.0L GDI engine in markets where this combo is offered.

Yes, it is "done" (the known issues have been fixed)
We would all like to hope so but wouldn't it be safer to say the jury is still out until the latest "F" revision clutch and "D" input shaft seal have sufficient mileage from a statistically significant number of owners as to have a track record? These parts have only been available since July and many installed components are barely past the break in period.

EDIT: According to sailor, the "F" clutch is not even available yet.

Here is a North American spec SE with the 1.0EB, your super fuel economy model, paint is Tectonic.

I just don't like it. Wondering why they made the front to look like the Fusion and Fiesta, but has the bottom opening different than the 2. On the Fusion and Fiesta, the sides of the bottom half flare upwards, on the Focus they flare downwards, know what I mean? Makes it look even worse IMO.

"...Ford let the Focus lose its unique identity in their quest to homogenize the brand."

Boo hoo. yawn...

Look at the earlier Fiesta, current C Max and Escape, they look like current Focus. It is not all that 'unique' in the Ford line. The rear of the Focus Sedan looks like a Hundai Sonata or Elantra.
