Anyone know anything about this guy?

My engine has developed a leak from the stock oil air separator, and a quick search reveals that they are rather pricey. It wouldn't bother me that much, but the oil drips from the front of the block right on to the header's collector, and the smell is getting annoying. Anyway, anyone have any experience with CFM's delete?

The CFM part could be made better but they do work , they work much better if you run the hose up over the top raid hose then down to the ground or a catch can , doing it this way the oil has a much higher path it has to take and much less with come out of the hose
If your trying to hook it all back up stock then the C-F-M part wont work easy and best to go to the for sale section here on FF and buy a used one , the SVT is the same and will work

So, is the only issue with the CFM unit that it drips a lot if you don't route the hose carefully? I'm thinking I could put up with that for it being like a third the cost of an OEM unit.

i have the jay Racing one , i have it bolting to the block but dont have the car running yet

Ah damn, I always forget about JayRacing. Looks like it's like half the price of CFM's. Oh well. Can't win them all, I guess.
i got it used , i emailed Jay a while back twice and they never got back to me IDK if they are still around or what

Far as I heard, they ripped people off and closed up shop. Not sure if there's truth to all of it or not. But I do know they aren't in business any longer.

From what I gather, it was a kid business ... much like many are now. Someone in school, has spare time and means to make something. School load gets heavier and customers suffer. Graduates and the business closes up.

There is good reason I stick to proven companies and support them. CFM for example.

I just ordered one of these plugs from CFM with the oil separator/catch can they sell because apparently Ford discontinued the whole part (mine was in bad shape I noticed when I took the header off). Is there any write up on an install for this setup with the separator they sell? I tried looking couldn't find anything specific. Thanks.

People generally mount it where it's convenient for them and they like the look.

Routing the hose high before back down to the can lets the most oil vapor condense & drain back (like the original separator did) so the can doesn't fill quickly and your oil level stays high.

If your can has an outlet hose fitting that can go to the original PCV port on the intake, that keeps the system/tuning operating as stock with less vapor to the intake.

I guess I've gotten spoiled with all the how to's and diy threads/videos, and there wasn't one totally specific for this I could find. What I am wondering is if the CFM plug goes in the front under where the oil seperator was then when the PCV valve is removed from the upper right section what goes there? Is the hose just routed back into it from the other end of the catch can? [scratch] I'm looking for how the hoses are routed. Don't flame me on this one...

That would be one way to do it, or you can skip that pipe around the end of the engine and route direct from the catch can outlet to the intake.

Original is oil separator on the front, with the PCV valve stuck into that. PCV hose then goes from the valve to the pipe around the side of the engine then to a hose to the intake.

CFM plate replaces the rotted oil separator, then the hose goes up as high as you can manage before dropping back down to the catch can (acts as a separator). From the can to the intake is up to you, usually direct skipping that pipe/hose combination.

I just realized that I never ended up commenting on this after installing it. For what I want, the CFM delete works great. I ran the hose at an upward angle to underneath the air box, then back down to the "catch can" (it's a PBR tall boy) that is mounted behind the front bumper. The can hasn't accumulated much (if anything), and there's no longer oil dripping on the exhaust - I call it a win/win.

So got everything installed nicely, seems to be working great no issues except after 2 weeks of daily driving I got about an ounce of oil already in the CFM 'catch can'. I emptied it two days ago haven't seen much, wondering if this is just an initial accumulation?

Did you expect more?

FWIW, I got about 1 qt every 1,000 miles under normal driving.
If I pushed it hard I could fill my tank in 5 miles.
Such sloppy rings @ 200K miles.

The amount isn't of concern, unless excessive. It's the color that matters.
If it looks like oil, the separator is doing no good.
The oil collected in the tank should be water logged, foamy and yellowish.
