Well this is unfortunate news. :(

Good report, not good news for '14 owners.

(thread files sure are useful to clean up damaged threads - and ones not right to begin with!)

Could you correct your edit regarding your build date? 7/13 would be better for future reference. Tx

Wow, thank you for being the guinea pig.

I wonder if Ford changed the springs and struts because the old ones rattle like a 1990s ford escort (yes i had one and even if it didn't rattle as much)

This means the 2014s have different control arms, strut mounts, etc.? I wonder if this is truly the fix to the rattling 2012-2013 cars..

This is something I am trying to figure out. I started another thread (http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=415698) in attempt to determine the difference between strut mounts. Specifically, I am wanting to know if the three bolts are the same at the top... same as in spacing, depth, etc. Then, if the strut is the same diameter.

IF they are, I would assume any of the coilover options would work for the 14's.

ANYONE care to help? I know almost everyone on here as a 2012
or 2013 Focus. Simple measurements and photos could help.

I know its a ghetto way of doing things but a friend suggested cutting a coil from the stock springs until someone does not make some lowering springs. I don't think I would do it but its an option for someone that has to go LOW right now lol. I did some reading on it and it seems like if you do not cut much it should be fine. I know a lot of mustang guys cut them and my bro in law cut a coil off the rear of his mustang (not a stock spring) to level it out a bit and he has been driving it like that for a while without anything braking or going bad.

If you have to cut a coil for a look then you might be a ricer. Lol

Patience is your friend as proper coils will come along and why do the work twice?

Oh I agree with you. It just sucks that we do not have any springs for 14's yet.

And we may not - Steeda has informed me they won't be making springs for the '14 . If you have seen my other thread it seems as though we have some coilover options.
Not really feeling like dropping big bucks for coilover especially since I do not like the car being too low. All I want is about .75" from the front and .50" from the back. I guess I am screwed. Yes I know I can adjust coilovers but why pay big bucks for something I will not use much. I guess stock it is unless another company comes out with some springs that do a small drop.

Ok gang, spring rates on Vogtlands:

Info received from Germany on the 953119 kit (1.4" drop):

They are both progressive and here are the spring rates in pounds per square inch. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Front
Initial – 114
Final – 285

Rear
Initial – 120
Final - 217

This confirms my driving impressions, which are pretty well like stock most of the time, but as compression increases are pretty stout.

Eminaga, if you want minor drop, take a look at the Ford Racing Springs - drops it about where you're looking.

Cheers.

I hear ya there. If you are wanting that minor of a drop... I think the cost of COs would be overkill. Keep in mind though, ST is offering a 100 rebate this month only. I know they are still more expensive than springs but... it does drop them down between 715-790 depending where you fid them online.

Good to know thanks. Now, I am curious about the stated drop. I am running the touring package as well. Any idea if I will see a true 1.4 drop from these springs? I am curious to know if the touring package sits lower or just has a higher spring rate than say the non touring package. [dunno]

What was stock on your car OldGray? Touring Package or???

FORGOT TO ASK.... do they provide bump stops or new boot covers like Eibach? Or just the springs?
