well my car has a few mods not sure of all of them but its how i bought it, sum i know of are headers cold air intake and pully?its a 2.0 L zetec but any ways when i bought my car it was fast and the guy at the dealership said he had it goin about 135, now its so slow its imbaressing ppl try to race me all the time and i cant keep up the acceleration is slow from it being stoped also it shuts off at like 106 or a lil more any one got any ideas why it shuts off now when it didnt b4 also why its slow off the line, thanks

it cuts off at 106-108 because of the speed governer. you can remove that by buying a chip from FS (Focussport.com) or any other chip i think,

And what does this have to do with Exterior mods...................Oh well, I guess you could get one of those big old ricer wings on top and a neon kit, that would deff. make it faster.

^^^not a very nice comment to a noobie bluepzev, u didnt help at all....apologize immediatly lol. Finish of your exhaust, to let the extra stuff ur sucking in out properly. Do u have a atx or a stick. And it might not be even this, have u had an oil change latly, a tune up, etc.....if not these things could make it seem slower.

Hey, If you have an ATX (automatic transmission) then I would also suggest getting a SCT Superchip tuned for what mods you do currently have and finish off the exhaust and get a flex pipe. What part of Iowa are you from by the way? ^^

you throttle resposne would also be a little better if you put 65mm or 67mm throttle body...not to mention a small gain in hp

I would take the car back to the guy who told you that and tell him to shove it up his ass. You my friend have been had, the governer cuts your car out at 108. So either he was lying his ass off to you or they have abused the hell out of the car and I suggest returning it and geting another car if you can.goddastayfocusedman said:

well i also have a catback exhaust, one of my problems i know it that its an automatic. I was thinking it had a speed ship when i bought it and when i had them hook up a dianostic test to see why my cheeck engine light was on, but i think when they hooked up the dianostic test it reset my chip? is that possible if so can i reconect it and still use it?

If you have a chip, it cant be reprogramed or deleted unless they have the software to do it. By hooking up a diagnostics computer all they are doing is reading codes, not altering the ECU unless they reflashed the ECU other than that I dont know.

are there other chips out there besides the one that are $300 i seen sum on ebay but i know there prolly junk, also sorry for posting this thread under exterior body and lighting i dont know what the hell im doing ? also any ideas for new mods to the moter?

Anyways, if you're looking to make your ride have better performance, don't expect to go cheap on parts. When you're dealing with mods, the term "you get what you pay for" usually comes into play. If you're going to modify something you may as well do it right the first time, so save up your pennies and get the good stuff.

i would recommend, since your new, not going for crossdrilled rotors. they warp easily and you have to replace them often, but they do make for amazing breaking. Once they do warp, its the worst feeling you will ever have. you feel like your going to never stop between the shuttering and slipping of the pads. other than that, its a good example to follow.focusin said:

alright first of all now that we all now easy rider tim likes it in the ass, my car is fast first of all just not off the line and top speed? i know top speed is because of the govener, but could my transmission be part of the reason its not fast off the line cause i just got a new one put in, and i think ford sent one of there cheep ones my r.p.ms go up but the tranny dont keep up with it
