Rumor has it the Powerworks kit failed to make the 130MPH needed to compete in the car and driver 4 Cyl shoot out

This from a friend that was there " just returned from the Car & Drive 4 cylinder shootout .. The Powerworks Focus could not make the 130 mph run .. would only get to 120. Would guess they had some kind of an issue."

Any one know anything about what happen?

All I can say is WOW!

Tom has greatly exceeded my expectations with the car, I hope he just don't exceed my expectations with the BILL[rofl]

Are you still running that at low to mid 12 AFR?

Also, do the SVT and Zetec use the same main caps from the factory?

As far as we know this is the FIRST SVT to break 300whp on a stock internals engine running 93 octane pump gas!!

The only mods to the motor are a FC 65mm TB and a sheetmetal intake..... thats all.

Tom runs 18psi on his SVT, but thats with race gas. So the motor should be able to handle more boost but cooling it is the next hurdle to jump.

The SVT foci are not limited...well I mean they are...just not by the ECU!
Ive had mine up to 126...but that was stock and in 6th before I knew that top speed was reached in 5th. So now I just have to find another smooth straight deserted highway and really see what she'll do!!
 
It wouldnt be fair for me to say what a customer paid , he will be home tommorrow and I will let him say the cost if he likes

I can say this, My turbo kit wil do the same thing so you will be looking at

Turbo kit 5800.00
Install 750.00
Tune 400.00
Then about 200 for oil , oil filter , plugs , thurmo Etc

Lets say including the first kit I bought, All the extra things I did before I went to Tom's, all the stuff I added on like Quaife and other things, tax, labor, my left leg, first unborn child......

I could have done the V-8 swap, BUT... 305whp at 15psi on PUMP gas makes for a thrilling ride.... especially when Tom's behind the wheel[doorpeek]


OH and when we went for a ride it picked up to 17psi, still no problems, still on 93[thumb]

damn i would so want those numbers!!!! but i live in cali where the highest pump gas around here is 91...well i think there may be 1 or 2 that have 93 but they are far away and it wouldnt be worth it. what kind of numbers on 91? and is there any way to put some sort of octane booster in your gas that will raise it to 93? if so how much. thanks
