I have a 2004 2.3L ZX3 with a CAI. When I'm in second gear at about 3500 - 4000 RPM my car will sputter for a second then go back to normal. It doesn't happen everytime but enough to make me worry about it. I dunno what the cause of this is and would appriciate any help on it. Thanks
John

have you check all connections?

was the battery unplugged for more than 2 hours?

has the car been driven over 200 miles with the new intake?

What kind of gas?

What kind of CAI?

Does it just kinda bog down all of a sudden and act like it wants to stall out? I had that problem with my car before and I took it to the dealership. They ran a full battery of tests and couldn't find anything wrong (figures). The only thing the tech's suggested was to replace the fuel pump(s), which seemed to clear up the problem. Any more details on what's going on?

Yea it bogs down then it goes back to normal after a second or two. Sometimes when I start the car it does that too. I have to hit the gas to keep it from stalling out. I'm still under warrenty so I guess I could take it in. Would it be a good Idea to take the CAI out and put the stock air box in before taking it to them?
Thanks
John

i think it would be ok to leave it on because I had to take my car in to the dealer and i left the intake on and they took it in.

ok I guess I'll take it in tomorrow. The car is doing this in all gears now... The best way I can explain it is when I'm on the gas pedel it seems like the car isn't getting any gas. I even tried flooring it to see if it would pull in this state and it pretty much just kept bogging and not moving. So no matter the how much the gas pedel is pushed it moved the same. Anyways I'm gonna try to take it to the dealer in the morning. If you have any other suggestions let me know thanks

i had a very slight stutter in 3rd gear but would have to keep it at around 2500 rpms to achieve this when i put the header and flex pipe its almost completely gone
