Okay so I just got the 02 SVT out of storage and I have come to the realization that I'm just shy of being off warranty coverage. So there replacing my intake manifold due to asticky runner valve and one of my headlights for fogging up, but thats not the story I came on here to tell. The car was giving me bad vibration at all speeds under breaking and not under breaking , so it turns out that my rotors are so warped that there rubbing the pads even when the brakes aren't applied. So its time for new rotors.

I just ordered KVR cross drilled discs front and rear with black cadium coating. Does any one else have these? How long does the black break surface last? I want to get some pics with the black surface. and I ordered all new pads from KVR! I was wondering who makes a good steel braided break line kit? and how much in CDN.?
I am slow planning on painting the calipers with the duplicolour stuff. Is it any good ? am i wasting my time? The car is sonic blue with the stock wheels. Should I paint the calipers silver or the sonic blue to match the car?!
Any thought would be awesome~!
and check the car out here at

Painted calipers look very nice. And with switching out the rotors and new brake pads, that'd be a great time to do the paint job. [thumb]

Kona I have been suggesting to people who need or are interested in new rotors to check out KVR. Great choice! I think nobody on here has KVR cross drilled and especially in black. Since I think u are the first one on here with those, it's going to be your duty to post up pics as soon as you get them installed [;)]

Oh and great website by the way! [thumb]

thanks guys! I will definitly post pics when i am done. I think i have decided to go with the silver caliper paint because the black will be too much with the black rotors. i can't get the sonic blue paint kit from redline in time for the job so I think silver it is. The site is a work in progress, but everythink is original except for 2 pics on the under and oversteer page. Everything else including back grounds was oringal. We are working on fotage for a video.
Thanks for the tips guys any others just shoot

Moving to ”Wheels, Tires, Brakes & Suspension”...

That's a cool website you posted!

Which leads me to...
If you are taking your car to the track, keep a close eye on the cross-drilled rotors.
They do not hold up well in that environment, and will most likely crack around the holes in the long run.

BTW, [welcome]

Agree. The plainer the rotor, the better. I would even be worried about that coloring coating they put on their rotors. Seems like it would it reduce braking than aide it.

the colour coating is actually a cadium coating, I belive it will wear off the brake face after a couple of brake aplications. The purpuse of the coating is to stop any rusting at the outer edges of the rotor, and at the center hub area. It will not hinder the brake performance. As far as tracking the car goes, I was told that if a rotor was going to crack it would be a crossdrilled rotor, but the kvr aplication is designed with track aplications in mind, and the placements of the wholes are specificaly placed for strength and heat disapation. I won't be tracking the car too much but I 'm not to worried about cracking. If i was tracking more I'd be looking to a slotted rotor but it is too aggressive on the pads for everyday street use.
I'll post a new thread next week after the project is complete, and I will let everyone know how the brakes work out.

Thanks again everyone!
