Its nearing that time for me where I should at least replace the pads --- any reccommendations on what to use for our car?
Thanks in advance.

I would like to know as well. I was considering the Green Stuff pads but heard they dust a lot too in spite of them advertising they are "dustless". I want some pads that will not turn my wheels black 4 days after I clean them, I am sick of these stock pads dirtying up my wheels so fast and so damn bad.

I know that Hawk is a pretty decent brand, I'm just not too sure that they make a set for out SVTF...

i having a problem finding both pads and spark plugs on the same site...i want denso iridiums and hawk ceramic pads.anyone know of a good site to find them both at?

I have the Hawk HPS pads front and rear on my SVTF, I bought them from Tire Rack.

I really like them, for more info, read this post that I made yesterday.

I'm not sure if they have an SVTF application, but Satisfied is also another great choice.

The Green Stuff pads "DUST - LESS" than the stock pads and have a good initial bite, they also work well on the road course (the stock pads were very good by the way) I have tried a couple of the more agressive Carbon pads on other cars in the past and you have to be carefull some of them work great but can stain the finish on your wheels.

did you mean rotors?

Told you I needed help, duh ... I'm a good driver but a mechanic, I'm not ... anyway, thanks for the assistance everyone.

lol...np

quickie lesson:

disc brakes consist of calipers and rotors. The calipers utilize brake pads.

Drum brakes (used on the rear of most non-perfomance cars) utilize a drum and brake shoes. The "shoes" are curved pieces that are pushed against the inside of the drum to facilitate stopping.

everyone starts somewhere :)

Performance cars utilize drum brakes as well. Secondary, for the parking/emergency brake.

By the "batinc" package, are you guys referring to the EBC rotor/Mintex pad combo they sell? I just ordered a similar setup for my front brakes (except I got Hawk HP-S pads). I can say that it appears I got overcharged on that deal after looking at the batinc price (although I dunno how much they would have charged for shipping).

EBC Greenstuff , great grip, no fade and almost no existent dust. Had a set all around on my Miata and never had to clean the wheels. The stock SVTF on the other hand, I'm cleaning them every few days as they turn everything black, and heaven forbid if it rains, they streak like crazy.
