My Girlfriend got a 05 zx3 fully loaded except the duratec. I have that HAHA[:D]. Anyways her stepdad was being a duche about the Audiophile and he was like its better than your system! I was like w.e. So i listened to it and it is so weak. That wussy sub in the back cant do shit.

I have
MTX Road Thunder RT12-04
MTX Road Thunder 202
Pioneer DEH-P6700MP
Stock Speakers

When i turn the amp half way that Audiophile could not even dream of compeating?

Audiophile[???:)]

$455.00 WTF LMAO OWNED

Not a fair comparison. The SVT Audiophile is decent for a stock system. But most aftermarket systems will spank a stock system any day. Even though her stepdad didn't, you can keep it in perspective.

If and when she's ready to upgrade, there are many options to choose from. It all depends on budget.

ok for 1 in the focus 24000 car price this is actually one of the better systems that i have heard.

if you put this "audiophile" up to a 50k car "audiophile" system it makes the focus sound like crap again..

but what else will the factory call a 5 speaker system? "nice audio package" haha

its not audiophile but when you get them damn sony explode speakers over the paper cones they give the non audiophile its a nice system

with all the shit i have in my car and the sweet ass CDT's that i got from focusincali i still run the sony explode factory rears

they are muddy and not great ...but i have the fade all but 2 in teh front so they hardly even light up. prolly break down and pull them some day... but its gonna be only when i am bored and have 100 to throw away..

dont know that any of this matters but ehh... i am at work bored at 1am.

Audiophile - noun a person who is enthusiastic about high-fidelity sound reproduction.

So pretty much the Audiophile system in the Focus should accurately reproduce EVERY frequency how it originally sounded, not just lots of bass with nothing to back the upper frequencies.

Audiophiles are interested in SQ, not SPL. Just because your system has more bass when cranked doesn't mean it is necessarily better, but to the right person it might. I bet her dad thinks bass is overrated and would rather have the total package where you can hear the strings being plucked than something that goes BOOM BOOM BOOM half a block away.

Also, the Audiophile subwoofer doesn't take up half of the trunk!

I'm still waiting to hear my dads Bose system in his Trailblazer and compare it to my aftermarket system.

This is a dumb post, a stock system which takes up no additional space vs. one that takes up half the trunk/hatch. Alot of people put big subs in there car and think all that pounding is a system. You have to have a balance of everything, not saying you don't. I would take my stock Audiophile system with the built in six disc cd changer over about 60% of the after market systems these kids have in there car. Also you have to remember, her whole radio system can just blow up and guess what..........its fully covered under warranty.

I would have to agree with Toolman00.

Heh, I'd hardly consider myself an "Audiophile" but I know what I like... I like to be able to hear my music with some bass, not the other way around [:D]

'sides, go crazy in the audio upgrade department and all you'll be doing is hanging a big neon sign outside of your car with the words "Steal Me" glowing brightly [ohcrap]

Heh and let's not even go into the fact that a car is one of the worst acoustic soundstages that you'll ever run into.

A car environment is definitely a tough place to have a decent sounding system, but it can be done.

This was my intention when researching and building my system. I was going to build a crazy 8ch active setup, but managed to get really close with my current setup for less than half the money.

A car will never sound as good as a really good home system, but my car sounds better than the average home system. It actually rivals accuracy and tonality of some higher-end home systems.

Granted, if you are sitting in the car with it off. [:D]

But it is still really nice even when driving with the exterior noise factor.

The factory 'audiophile' stereo is not really an audiophile system. It's simply a marketing approach to help make a sale.

The Focus is actually a pretty good design for a good soundstage with the right equipment and install. I must say, it is way better for the driver than it is for the passenger. It has something to do with the raised curved instrument panel.

Most of my music plays above the dash, and there is a central voice or solo instrument. You can hear a breath, fingers plucking strings, etc.

The Audiophile system is good for $450, but for $1500 or so, you can have a great system that actually surprises an audiophile who takes into consideration the car environment.

Some people like to go boom, some like to hear the detailed sound quality. I prefer a detailed sound quality system that can provide a little extra kick when desired. [:p]

thats cool - but to be exact the city is Seattle [:)~] (two t)

anyway back on topic. i was working with remaking the grill cover in the trunk and noticed somethign funny about the "audiophile" system

looks like its not exactly a audiophile but a audio file... where is this file i wonder.

For what it's worth the AudioPhile in my F-150 smokes the SVTF one [:D]
Both work awesome for me but the truck does sound better. I think it's because the sub is much closer, who knows. I like to roll the SVTF with no tunes on most of the time anyway, the engine, exhaust and intake are music enough.
