It's due out this month, so it'll be a while before we hear much about it.

I understand the idea for keeping the stock unit, but no matter how you dice it, you are still at the mercy of the cheap-ass stock head unit DAC (digital-analog conv). That is the most important issue not being addressed. It would make more sense to come up with an idea to have an optical output from the stock head unit. Then you could add any type of DSP you want.

For now, it would be a lot cheaper and easier to use a LOC from davidnavone.com or an amp with high-level inputs... if you must keep the stock head unit.

The CleanSweep unit will go to the masses who will be "sold" the marketing approach. Those who really have a clue about the audio signal chain will pass. IMHO

I agree, I have yet to hear a stock sound system that holds a candle to a descent aftermarket setup. This includes systems with "audophile" or big brand names (even Bose). That's why you hear people say things like, "it's good for a stock sound system."

But honestly if you are going to put an amp(s) and speakers/subs in your car, I would highly recomend getting an aftermarket HU. I use to have the stock blaupunkt hu in my car and ran my sub off a LOC, once I upgraded to an Alpine 9833 you can tell a huge difference in the sub and the stock speakers (which I'm going to replace soon now that I'm working full time for the summer).

yes I agree would be beter to just upgrade the hu at the same time

I wasn't trying to be push or anything, I was just curious what fetures you cared about, and I think if the stock HU has what you want, get a LOC and run an amp off it and it should work fairly well. I ran my sub off one for about 5 mo. until I got my new HU, and it still sounded good.

I know you weren't!!
I did that with my ZX3. and it always had a slight hum until I got a new HU. The hum gave me a headache...sure there was another reason for it-but the amp and sub I had were too powerful for the stock HU...not that I am going for anything like that in the SVT...
