so the the stock mass air flow sensor does not fit the bomz intake??
The BOMZ is a garbage intake, the worst one on the market for the focus. In all honestly I'm suprised that it even fits on the focus (and not joking here but in some cases it doesn't).

Best of luck.......

<sigh>

It's about time we got the mandatory "i hate it" out of the way. page two? Slacking

the internals from the stock maf bolt into a section in the bomz, as with several other cai's, rather than sticking the factorymaf inline

jeez i know they are not good quality but i was just wondering if it fits.

i dont really like CAI's cause i dont think its worth risking the engine just to get 2-3 more HP. i rather get a filter with a stock tube....

Sorry about the comment but I will never recommend a product like that. Putting a POS cheap intake on a new car or a car in general with the risk of causing the problems that could happen is not justifiable. As well the BOMZ is a typical knockoff company and in no way would I ever support something like that.

Back on topic, I won't comment on anything else on here, Mr. Squatch by far is way more knowledgeful on this topic let alone any performance related topic then I am. I just get 'heated' when it comes to products like this and I apologize for 'jacking' the thread.

no no, I don't claim to know more than anyone, and I encourage any/all other opinions. I won't argue, but I may try to talk you out of it. I agree that all the bomz break at one point or another, and that they are a cheap alternative, but I've run one on a couple cars and I think as far as performance it's just as good as any of the 200 dolla plus kits I've bought. Hell I've gone backwards and am now running only short rams. haha. If someone had the money, i'd tell em to get a name brand one, but if they only have 50 bucks I'll give em the good with the bad and tell em its their decision. sorry I bitch sometimes too much about people bitching. I just know what it's like to be new and learning and I wish there were no "that was stupid" type comments. But it is the internet, so it will always exist. This is a good board, with an increasing base of knowledge, I'd just rather see constructive criticism and encouragement than bashing and/or ongoing "hate it" type things. ya know?

ok back on topic.

also have to look at the fact that, some people just don't have the money for the more expensive parts. They want their car to sound better and go faster, but they don't have money for top quality parts. I don't recommend the products but i can understand why they buy them. I've seen a bomz on a focus that fit great and worked great, but i've seen a bomz that fit horribly and fell apart and such. Its a hit n miss thing i guess. Either way, try to protect the filter and engine best you can with the intake. Glad to hear you like it

So after reading everybodys replys i just dont understand the fact that this intake can ruin my car...This is the first time owning a ford vehicle and know nothin about them..I used to have a 2002 neon rt that i did a bunch of work to but i went with the short ram so this is a first with the CAI...I got this car because it was reasonable for under 10,000 and 562 miles on it..Yes im a broke college student now or i would have an SRT4...so what should i do about this problem i dont want to blow my engine up or get hydrolock and i live in pennsylvania so it does rain here alot....CAN THIS HAPPEN FROM DRIVING IN THE RAIN??? well all of you have been really helpful and i dont mind opions but i like this intake i guess i got lucky and got a decent BOMZ product it sounds great and the perfromance is noticable...so any help you all could give me would be great!!!

like i said. If you want to protect your engine, there are products that do that. The weather shield from www.myfordperformance.com is a good thing to start with. It will help with road spray when its raining...it protects the filter from all that stuff. It won't protect against puddles and submerging the filter. If you plan on submerging the filter, then the bypass valve is what you will want to go with. I've heard people say they have CAI and drive in rain with no protecting on the filter and they never have problems, but i've heard people say they drove in the rain and ruined a motor.... Guess it depends on how bad its raining. So those are two products that can help you out with protecting your motor from hydrolock...
