For everyone getting this done without issues, you technically do have to pay. Hell - I'd even pay for mine if they'd fix my damn clutch. Until then, I should probably milk them for all they're worth. After all, they're doing it to me (us).

Hi everyone,

Your dealership is a great place to find out if your vehicle has any applicable service actions that need to be performed. Give them a call and they'll check your VIN. If you need any additional assistance, get in touch with me via PM and I'll do what I can to help. I'll need your VIN, dealer, mileage, daytime phone number, and full name to determine how to best assist.

Thanks!

Crystal

Wouldn't you know it, just like always at Velde Ford, dropped my car off for an 8am appointment and they have yet to begin work on it... I got some BS about only having one guy qualified to do updates to the electronic systems and about how he was dealing with some issues on a C-MAX since Friday and something about Microsoft (which doesn't even apply to this TSB in any way) and blah blah blah... yeah...

I wish I could do this myself... ugh.

I wish I could agree with you here but the last several times I've contacted my dealership about TSBs they have had no knowledge of them while I have had the ability to print them out and bring them in. Of course, with Velde Ford nothing gets done. I've had my car there for "The Works" and issues with my transmission (at that point it had been the third time) and after 8 1/2 hours they said my car was ready and never even performed "The Works."

So... unfortunately my dealership isn't the best place to go for anything but a migraine.

I had this TSB performed, as well as the low-coolant indicator update TSB.

Interestingly, either one of the TSBs also updated the idling characteristics of the car. Now, the idle speed increases whenever I select first or reverse gear from the stop. I noticed this when parking--the car creeps much more easily and quickly, without having to feather the throttle.

In a way, the automated nature of it reminds me of my experiences with the DCT. Initially it seems a bit unpredictable, and I could do without it, but I can get used to it, and it probably makes the car more difficult to stall.

Glad I saw this. my car(built 1/13)(600mi) has one time had the display(cluster) stay blank after startup for about 20sec.
I want the all in one page also.
Calling tomorrow to set it up for a "blemish" in the paint on the spoiler also.
Wish me luck!

Got this update performed finally yesterday. I have a Titanium that was built in Aug 2011. The dealership whined a bit at first about doing the work but eventually caved. They got ford to cover the update, but if you aren't as lucky they should only be able to charge folks ~$50 to do the update. They are allowed to bill ford .4 hours per the TSB so you shouldn't end up paying for more time than that. My only complaint was that the dealership didn't tighten up my positive battery lead so this morning my car wouldn't start. After freaking out a bit I popped the hood and found that the bolt to the positive was really loose. Tightened the sucker up and I'm back in action. I'll probably make a post at some point to have someone take a pic of their battery in case I'm missing anything. I don't have a clue how it is supposed to look.

Got my TSB update performed. I complained of screen lag or sometimes no screen at all. Took a little over an hour. For people on the west coast, don't do it in the afternoons because if FORD HQ closes (5pm) they can't pull the firmware update from them (I'm assuming VIN verified).

They performed this TSB 13-06-07 and TSB 13-06-27. Since -17 is the center screen, -27 is the cluster screen, I think -07 is both screen updates. Either way, it is indeed fixed and I have the new 4 quadrant menu.

I stopped in today with a short list of fixes (couple specks in paint on rear spoiler, tiny hole in leather on dr seatback and the display TSB).
They didn't hesitate on any of it. Just waiting on a call back to set an appointment now.

I have this done also to my car. But, what I don't understand is the following: why would any Ford dealer refuse to perform the TSB if it exists and the user says he had the problems the TSB is talking about. What is this "can't replicate" BS ?!? The TSB talks about intermittent problems, not constant and repeatedly problems !!! You guys down the border, you do have some crappy Ford dealers.

From the TSB file:
Is the vehicle currently exhibiting an inoperative Any Other Labor
IPC? Operations)
a. Yes - restore IPC to normal operation by removing fuse number 69 from the body control module for one (1) minute and then
reinstall fuse. Refer to Wiring Diagram, Section 11-1, page 3.
b. No - proceed to Step 4.

4. Reprogram the IPC to the latest calibration
using IDS release 85.02 and higher. Calibration
files may also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com.

???

I've downloaded calibrations (firmware) at all hours of the night.

Had mine done Monday. That and the SB covering the repeated 'clickety clickety clack' from the DCT when opening the drivers door and not starting right away. Now the trans. clicks just once and the display is able to cleared from one screen instead of requiring scrolling through 3 0r 4 and clearing them individually... should have been designed that way from the start.. Take care
