Yesterday morning when i started the car it didnt want to go into gear, it would go but with some force. So after i drove to work, about a 30 minute drive it started to shift normally after work.? then again this morning same thing. the clutch pedal does seem pretty loos. Also when id have the clutch down and trying to shift it wouldnt take some of the gears but eventually would. this is so confusing if anyone ahs had this issue or can help me diagnose this more, thatd be perfect.[rant][rant][dunno][V][boxface]

Noticing any fluid near the tranny? How's the brake fluid level? You could possibly have a bad slave cylinder. Just a thought

If you pump the clutch a couple times & it feels "normal" after that it would confirm the hydraulic issue.

Peek under the dash & look for drips from the master cyl. to check that out, on my car it tended to run down the pedal arm and accumulate under the rubber B4 dripping on the floor so it wasn't "obvious" 'till it leaked a bit.

Another thought is to check for the return spring while your looking there, on mine it was broken off & missing since B4 I bought the car - when working normally it wasn't an issue except for occasionally having to lift the pedal so the cruise could engage!

Luck!

I had a similiar problem with my car. It would do it for a day or so and then normal for a couple weeks. Now it's sitting at the dealership with a broken shifter linkage. They described it as a 'Y' shaped piece that goes into the tranny that is broken. I need to try to find someplace else cheaper to fix it though. I don't want to pay them $120 an hour to fix it...

well i havent had time to check for leaks, i know ive got a rear main that is leaking. And with the car having 123k on it should i just do the clutch? i have slave cylinder and throwout bearing already, and im thinking i might as well just do a clutch. im thinking about one of the stage three clutch kits from CFM.

Are you sure that the rear main is leaking?
