With best intentions he did recommend someone, but the shop wouldn't take up on the job, like others - they can't find parts and don't want to mess with this getrag unit.

I'm thinking it will end up wth me doing all the work in garage and... let's just say I'm not looking forward to wrestle tranny with car on jackstands :/
I don't know much about tranny's, but if you need help, I'll come lend a hand. I wanna learn more stuff anyways, so there's no better way to learn!

I appreciate that, but keep in mind I myself am just learning, spending every free day working on my car.

I'm thinking.. what am I going to do with my life when the car is finally fixed, my routine will fall aparat ;)

Well two brains, is always better than one right? Yeah, I agree. I'm hoping to get a decent scholarship so I can get a second car, then the SVT is getting completely rebuilt. So I have a while of planning and dreaming.

Complete rebuilt is what I'm doing, hehe. You're welcome to come by any Sunday and have a look. The reason I don't ask for hands-on help is because I don't expect anyone to have patience as I clean and restore every little piece :p . And some of the guys here already did sacrifice a lot of their time to help with my timing belt job which was a very problematic one.

You clearly already know more than me, so I'm sure there is at least something for me to learn. Yeah, the next time I have a free Sunday, I'll PM you!

I try to imagine Paul's big evil smile as he thinks of two noobs trying to do transmission work on SVT :)

I can't. Unfortunately we tore out whatever was left of the old bushing, so now the car isn't exactly driveable. I just read about sope hyper socket tools, so I'm gonna try to get some tomorrow. Hopefully can get a ride to the store from a friend.

Well let me know if you were able to get the tools, if not then maybe I could bring mine. But not sure if I will have car available so first try to get that ride from your friend.

Just bought my third Focus. CenTex owner. 02 ZTW. Leather, 5-speed, 98k miles. Owned it maybe a week now and already ordered some parts. Can't wait to lower this baby and get some REAL mods on it!

show us photo of the stripped bolt?

what i did was to use the smallest socket you can fit, even if you need to hammer it a little on the bolt, then have someone push on the socket pretty hard to make sure it wont slip up, while you slowly move the braker bar.

and make sure you turn in the right direction :p

so i just got back from drifting at gulf greyhound park and holy cow is drifting fun. yall should all get a RWD car, its a blast. and much harder than you would think. also yall should just go out to the next event in houston, its like a huge party. its so chill and they have a makeshift car show and you can get ride alongs as long as you have a helmet

it's simply worthless. I'm putting it back together as best as I can and driving it very slowly and carefully to my mechanic tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get it figured out.
