AEM Ram Airtake open hole??

I have this two open holes and someone told me that they can be connected but I was also told that i can actually buy a filter that fits over the one on the engine and just cap off the one on the intake. Any opinions?? I have pictures but dont know how to post them, its says that they are too big

Ya, I don't see why you would want to go out and buy a filter for that. Just get a hose, and put it on the hole. I'm not sure what it's there for, but I'm just doing things how the intructions tell me.
