For the first time since moving down here to South Florida (10 years ago), we had a wicked storm this afternoon with HAIL!![mecry]

There I was watching ping pong ball size hail pummel my 3 month old car!! Man did that suck or what!

Luckily the results were not too bad. A very small ding on the hood, which you have to look at an angle to see, and four more small ones on the metal piece between black trim on the roof and the doors. Those are a little more pronounced. Most people would not notice them....BUT DAMN IT! I SEE EVERY ONE!!!

Again they are minor, you really can't see them unless you sight down the side of the car.

So, now it is what do I do next. Do I live with them or get them repaired. Not sure the cost, but I would have to fork up the $500 for my deductible.

What to do...what to do[???:)]

Last year, a freak hailstorm here in Phoenix put dents on nearly every single body panel of my Mazda MX5 (my fair weather car). I like the car, so I paid the $500 deductible in order to get over $5000 in body work done to it. Aluminum hoods are very soft, I discovered that day...

This may fall under comperhensive coverage on your insurence... Check with your agent.
It is covered under comprehensive.

Our Focus is currently in the PDR shop having about $5k worth of hail damage taken care of. If you have a good insurance company and a good adjuster, you may end up not even paying the deductible in some cases.

My biggest fear everytime I hear there may be HAIL. I can only imagine what you were going through watching that!. Ugh!. I hope it works out for you my friend and that your able to get that fixed with little to nothing out of pocket!

That's awful.. could have been much worse though.

I would have jumped on the car trying to block the hail, only to get pummeled myself!
The big storm in Dallas a few months ago pumeled several of our airplanes MD-80s those things looked like a golf ball there were so many dents.

Got and estimate of $800 for normal body shop repair, which I would have to cover $500. But they are going to bring in a Paintless Ding Removal guy to take a look. If he can get 80% of them out, I would be happy. The bad thing, the dings are in the worst possible location on the car right at the edge of the roof line.
