Leather is more durable and easier to clean plus it doesn't stain easily at all.
Agreed.

My last leather equipped car was a 1991 Ford SHO purchased new. Three years and 80k miles later in spite of regular care with leather conditioners/cleaners, the drivers seat was showing significant wear and cracking.

Five new cars purchased since then (including three Fords) with cloth seats have held up much better and to me are more comfortable in all seasons.
I'm sure leather, like most other interior materials, has come a long way since then. My 7-year old '06 Explorer's light tan leather seats look pretty much new in the 2nd and 3rd rows. The drivers' seat has some ground in dirt due I presume to the first owner doing nothing to protect them. But no signs of excessive wear or cracking. And my wife's '08 Taurus's tan leather seats literally looked brand new when we traded it in for the Focus after driving it for 3 1/2 years.

With proper care leather seats will look very good for a long time. Plus cloth will absorb odors and exacerbate "old car smell" which I hate more than anything.

Dollar for Dollar I think the SE sport is the best performing focus you can get. Rear discs, nice dual colored sport cloth seats, nice 16's, and stiffer struts. Also I got mine before the TI came in a stick though. But with all the problems with highe end options, I can't be happier with my car.

What is going on with Ford's pricing? I just noticed in the local dealer's newspaper ad a SE Sport HB for $17,499. Curious, I went to the site and found the car's sticker, MSRP is $21,170, so $3671 off. Pretty great, but what really caught my eye was the sport package price is now down to $810 (was $1100 or more), there's a SE Sport Regional Discount of $515 and an SE Sport Package Discount of $115. So with those discounts the Sport Package is a $180 option. What a great value, but why all the trickery with the numbers? And on top of all that they're still tacking on a $190 Equip Group 203A discount and the national Sync discount of $395. Great value for a great car but all this accounting trickery is a bit too much.

Just ordered my Focus!

SE Hatchback
5MT
203A Equipment Group
Yellow Blaze Tri-coat
SE Sport Package
Winter Package
17" Machined and Painted Alloy Wheels
Cargo Area Protector

Definitely did not pay $17K, though - that sounds like a great price! I went through Ira McCrea at Phil Long Ford (forum member who posts here in the "Ask a Salesperson" thread). I was going to use the USAA Car Buying Service, but Ira's price was several hundred dollars lower, so I'm happy with it.

Now I just need to play the waiting game!

I have been in the queue for two weeks:

SE Hatchback
5MT
203A Equipment Group
Race Red
SE Sport Package
Winter Package
17" Machined and Painted Alloy Wheels
External Protection Package

I didn't pay $17K either. [confused]

I love my SE Sport Sedan, just wish Ford would of kept with their SPORT trend of BLACKED OUT... if you look at all Sport models of other Fords, they are all blacked out. I also love the Sedan better then the Hatch, now if they had brought the Wagon here, that would be sitting in my drive[headbang][headbang] Love the Stick and like someone said all the Good stuff and none of the FAT lmao[giddy][giddy] Wish I had only paid 17[confused][confused]

Yeah, I think the Titanium headlights might be in my future. Wish they made some piano black fog light bezels. Might have to figure something out.

Also, glad to see I'm not the only one who didn't pay $17k. Sounds like a dealer bait and switch scam to me. [confused]

Looks like we ordered nearly the same car! I would've liked the red, but my other car is red and it would've been a bit much. I let my wife choose the color and expected her to go for gray or blue (I was pushing for black), but she saw the yellow in person and had to have it. Kind of surprised me - I had seen one earlier and liked it, but never would have guessed it would be something she'd choose. All I can say is between our two cars we're going to have a very bright driveway...

You painted those yourself? Looks much better than stock. How do they look unpainted? I'm worried if I did it they would end up all uneven and drippy, lol.

Where did you order them and how much?
There was a member here that had access to them but doesn't now [:(] but Im sure some other member on here has access that lives in Europe or Aussie. they were pretty inexpensive. and they come in the same look and texture as the standard S (non-piano black) grill. I used some Plastic paint (like fusion but made my rustoleum) went on smooth, did like 5 coats

I see lots of sedans, but few hatches. I also see mainly standard SE or S models. I rarely see another Focus without hubcaps. I did, however, see a white SE Sport hatch with the 17" painted wheels the other day.

Just bought an SE Sport Hatch 5 Speed with moonroof today in Sonic Blue ... only 201A though, which was OK with me. Along with the above price cuts, I got $970 off the Ford discounted MSRP as well as $2250 in rebates. A $21,070 MSRP car cost me $16,750 before taxes. $4255 off MSRP.

An unbelievable value. Can't wait to get it later in the week.

I had hoped that Ford would let me have a Tuscany Red interior with mine.

No go.
