In addition, I believe the War over seas is a major factor. [scratch] [gunfire] [target]
Nah, believe it or not foreign wars have never been a factor traditionally. When the first persian gulf war happened prices didn't even flinch. Now deregulation of futures markets I would believe as the main cause.

Just so you guys know, the news is reporting that the oil companies have decided to grab more profit off our sheeple, just because they can and because the government doesn't seem to care. At midnight regardless of market conditions gas prices are going to jump 3 cents a liter to $1.37 give or take in the GTA. This will be PERMANENT. Just thought I'd give you a heads up so you have a fair shot tonight on the way home from work.

By the way for our American friends, $1.37 a liter for gas multiplied by 3.78 liters in a gallon is about $5.14 we'll be paying for gas come tomorrow.

[bigcry][eek][mecry][:(]

Thank god the focus is better on gas then my last car.

what the hell is going on up there??

i paid about $5/gallon when i was in montreal in november

It's 4.39 here... and i'm in the suburbs... The city is much worse. [:(]
Agreed!! Tell me about it I live in South Chicago. [:(] [V] [mad]

Yep... Last I heard we're worse than California though... Chicago is worse in the Nation.

Quick check of gasbuddy.com, LA is only 4.19!
Dayum! wtf! I tought La was at $5.00+. [rant]

Nonetheless, how far is Beach Park, from Chicago[?][dunno]

$5.37 on the island of Moloka'i. Here on Oahu the cheapest is on the military posts/bases at $4.35.

So a few things I noticed here. 1. Gas in Cleveland is pretty cheap after all! 2. If gas is that expensive in Canada, can someone explain to me how a pipeline coming from Canada to the Southern US will do didley squat for gas prices? (Rhetorical question, I know it won't) 3. Just for peoples info, gas prices hinge on a lot of factors. Most of which are out of the control of any 1 person or group of people. The Strait of Hormuz is a big factor, wall street, switching over from winter blends to summer blends, but most of all Supply and Demand!! Gas consumption is sky rocketing in countries like India and China! And there's just not enough new discovery to offset the rise in consumption. The oil that is being drilled offshore is coming from deeper waters that are harder to drill and more dangerous. There's a lot of oil in shale and sands, but getting the oil out of it is controversial at best.

Bottom line, gas prices aren't going back down. Ever. We gotta get used to this.

Now recently, he will do "everything in his power" to decrease gas prices, but according to the experts it'll be impossible, at least not in a few years. I believe that this is another (former Illinois Senetor) re-election strategy. [read] [deviltail]
Yeah. Funny he blamed Bush for high gas prices during the 2008 campaign and now "there's little a president can do"........ [vommit][bath]
