Auto Trans Differences

What are the transmission differences between the auto transmissions used in the 2000 to 2007 years?

It looks like only the 4F27E was used for both the P code and Ztech aplicaions

Looks the salvage yards have 3 listed for P code engines

1S4P-CA RM1S4P-CA and 1S4Z-CARM

Looks like the Ztech only used one 1S4P-DA


Can I take a trans from a 2002 P code car and put it in a 3 code z tech car?

I know an engine swap is a different matter swapipng the ecm harness +++

i believe the only difference was final drive ratios. I swapped an spi tranny into a zetec car with no problems.

The transmissions will fit, like the above poster stated the only difference is the final drive ratios.

Hmm, the ATSG manual says PCM will not work correctly as soon as it identifies wrong final drive.............................?

Anyway, looks like last 2 digits of the trans code, or CA vs. DA, identify the final ratio.

DA is 3.90 ratio zetec
CA is 3.69 ratio SPI
