Hey all,

I had a check engine light 4 months ago that went on. I took it to the shop and via the computer they determined it was the Airflow sensor. The car ran fine for 4 months and last nigiht, the engine light went on again. I checked fluids and all, and everything is good. I took it to the shop today, and the computer said the sensor is reading this again. They took it off, and said to come back if the light goes on again, and it did tonight. Any hints?? Shall I be switching the sensor like that every 4 months? Let me know if anyone knows more about this.

my check engine light has been on for about 7 months and nothing has gone wrong...stupid computer blah.

Somthing is wrong. You shoulldnt be going through that many sensors. Are you taking it to ford. If not do so they might find somthing else. If it runs fine just drive it till somthing else happens that shows the problem.

Any shop should be abble to reset the OBD II in the car. If they cant take it somewhere else.

Leaving a CEL on for 7 months isn't very smart. If it's cause you got a aftermarket mod that is throwing it then fine but not very 'caring' to your car by not checking it, especially a 2002 with warranty left, pretty stupid actually. It'll be really sweet when the warranty runs out and soemthing was wrong that could have been fixed for free months prior but now will cost you out the pocket.

Yeah sensors shouldn't be failing that much but some cars do have 'lemon sensors' it seems that always fail and fail and ......

Yeah my CEl has been on for about 2 weeks I will reset and inabout 50 or so miles it comes back on I took it to ford and then it was off for about 2 weeks then its come back on again,And I have taken it to ford so I have no idea whats up
