I'll admit I stopped following Focus updates very much. Last I knew there would be a "massive" update to MFT this month, has that date slipped? Is it still coming?

I still get regular lockups, freezes, and quirky behavior. The clock slips an hour or two every weekend when I don't drive the car for the weekend. This morning all audio sources worked except the AM/FM radio (that one was new). The issues with MFT have pretty much negatively tainted my feelings for the vehicle and Ford. I was hoping the fix would change this. Yes, I've spoken with my dealer, there's nothing physically wrong with the vehicle, just the craptacular MFT software.

Thanks!

Scott, concur entirely, I had a lengthy thread about 'love my car but hate the (expletive deleted)infotainment system'.
Had it to the dealer today, to replace the CD player for the umpteenth time, and to try to get the Bluetooth back.
The voice activated Ipod control had quit functioning but resumed today for no apparent reason.
Sill love the car, but the technology that doesn't work (and a dealership that seems unable to cope with it) isn't giving me confidence overall.
So ya' know, the dealer is saying March for the updates.

About two weeks ago MFT froze up on me in my new Focus -- I think the second day I had my new car. When I called the Sync support number the CSR told me this (MFT locking up?) was a known issue and I would be receiving the free upgrade "soon." I love my new car and when Sync and MFT touch work they are great, but it is very flaky and I never know what is going to happen when I get in my car each day -- sometimes it fires right up and my iPhone connects no problem, sometimes it connects then disconnects from my iPhone, sometimes MFT reboots, etc. Just a little frustrating, but I'm counting on Ford coming through with the release of this update...

As I noted in my other thread, I'm trying to trust Ford to sort this out sometime soon, and I'm happy not to be the only guy out there with the problem.

Now if they can just get it sorted out before I put a magazine full of half-inch holes thru' it...that, and the fact I'm not quite sure where the offending part actually is....

It is maddening.

Thanks for the updated information everyone. I'll be looking for that jump drive in February some time. Let's hope they got it right, or at least better than what we currently have. Have to admit I chuckled at the statement "Developed using owner feedback," maybe they should have gotten some user feedback the first time instead of letting engineers design it all.

@ misfire... this is a bit off topic for this thread but, as a moderator, can you comment, or get ford to comment officially, and respond to the tread concerning the operation of the rear window defrost?
There seems to be quite a bit of chatter and disagreement on this forum concerning the operation of this feature.. So far, however, ford has not stepped in to comment one way or another. thnx.

Do you know when they started putting the new version in the cars on the assembly line? My focus has a build date of 12/15/11 and I think my car has the older buggy version, it has already shut down randomly on me three times and I've only had the car 4 days

afaik, it's 800 ford employees beta testing in their every day cars

Unless you ordered a 2013 its the old stuff.

It is an extremely horrible and buggy peice of software. It seems as though it was never even tested upon leaving the factory.

It really has a presonality of its own.
I get different and new problems everyday.

1. MFT freezes at random times
2. At night sometimes the MFT screen does not darken
3. Sometimes I would press the MFT steering wheel button and nothing would happen.
4. When it freezes I cant turn it off.
5. Sometimes the "last" or "next" steering wheel button dont work. Or when they do its 20 seconds later.
6. Sometimes when I end a call, 1 min later it will say. "call ended"
7. Sometimes the song name doesnt display properly or update when it switches
8. Sometimes it wont detect my USB
9. the command "call home @ home" works 25% of the time.
10. When I turn my car on, the radio is loud for a split second than decreases in volume.
11. Using the touch screen is extremely slow.
12. When I put the shuffle on random, it always starts with my Beethoven "fantasi impromptu" (it must like it)
13. Sometimes the volume keeps increasing and the MFT is frozen.
14. Sometimes when I press the mft voice button , it just beeps twice and continues playing the radio. ?
Maybe its just got its own personality and its state of the art :p
