How is that just "DUMB" ... Just cause you have to be Smarter and have more Coordination to drive a Stick [smackbum]
Yes, excellent point. I guess smarter is the operative word. The same superior intellect it takes to know that a question like "How is that just DUMB" usually involves no question mark of any sort anywhere or the same superior intellect it takes to know that one should capitalize words such as smarter, coordination, and stick randomly throughout the body of a sentence.

You go Captain S.A.T.s!

Just had it done yesterday - TSB 11-10-02A is what you want. My Focus was built August 9th.
as far as i can tell by looking online this is the only update in the system. I cant post any info on it, but the 11-10-2 is suppose to fix the issue.

i know on my 2012 Titanium i need to do this as my car acts very abnormal. I'm also not used to it yet as i was driving a heavly moddified SS S/C cobalt before this so stock is weird haha

So, then I guess you wouldn't consider a "Mexican" Focus or Fiesta or a "Mexican" Cadillac SRX either? Keeping in mind the Fusion is the most reliable mid-size car?

To the extent the DCT has had problems they seem to be software-related. I have yet to hear of a failure of the mechanical parts, which is what Getrag manufactures in Mexico.
I owned a 2000 VW Cabrio (build was Mexico) and it had so many electrical issues I wouldn't know where to start. We considered a Fiesta, but after seeing the Focus, we waited. And would never consider a Caddy, I'm not that old yet [:p]

Why is it all the people responding "Go Away, or That's just dumb?" have an Automatic trans? Never learned to drive a stick?

Anyhow...back on topic...

I have a 2012 with a november 2012 build date. I went in with 700 miles, they did their best to work within Ford's (BS) parameters and get it fixed but they were not successful. The TSB says the car must have 1000 miles before a repair attempt is made, BUT they recommended the mechanic do a drive cycle. A drive cycle consists of resetting the computer and doing a guided drive around town under different cycles and drive conditions. It didn't fix it. I have 1200 miles now, and I'm headed back for a second appointment. I'm an ex Mechanic and also ex Ford Salesman, so hopefully I can use that insider knowledge to cram this car back up Ford's ass if they don't get it fixed. I love Ford and I want them to succeed but this problem is turning into BS in a hurry.

What symptoms does your DCT have? My 700 mile December build is OK, sort-of, but not as good as the earlier builds I test drove.

Shudder/shake upon launch mostly. It's annoying to the point where my girlfriend notices it, and she wouldn't notice an engine fire. It has some strange shift points but that seems to have improved after the drive cycle they ran.

Caddys aren't for old people anymore. The CTS-V will blow the doors off any of the old musclecars.

Any old muscle car? Maybe the stock ones lol...[deviltail]

You are a major idiot.
Im an Idiot? Really, why because i have the knowledge to maneuver a manual transmission, and have made it seem like your not smart enough to? Or is it because all i did was to say the best way to avoid a problem is to take the alternative? Sounds more like I'm the smart one here [smackbum]

I do hope they get the DCT problem fixed correctly, since Ford has come a long way and are back on top again. Love all the new designs. The new Fusion is F'n sweet, and it will be available with a 6 speed stick or DCT.

Please guys, Give it a rest!!! No need for all the BS. The best way to respond to a stupid comment is to not comment. Lol. <3
[ffrocks] Too true brother, we are all fans of the all new and imo one of the best Focus's to date [loveff] Hey Ghost, hows it goin? What did ya come up with for re-doing your headlights?

I guess I'm lucky. My September build had the DCT update installed at the factory...........gotta say I'm quite pleased with the way it performed for the month I drove it (2+ thousand miles). I had it shudder on pulling away from a stop twice; lasted less than a second both times...........I'll keep an eye out for it when I get back and start driving the car again, but I'm not worried about it at this point.
