The article talks about a "stealth update" in December. Anyone have a TSB we can wave at the service department?

The tranny update only applies to cars built before like August 12th. I'm guessing your car is new enough to already have it??? I've yet to get mine done (built aug 4th) but I know backing up the tranny feels like shit so maybe I'll do it.

Hmmm... new engine mounts? My November build car could definitely be smoother at idle. It vibrates more noticeably than my previous 10 year old Passat 1.8T.

My dealer made it nearly impossible to get the transmission update the first time (downshifts way better, but still jerky when letting off the gas), and now they've tweaked it? :-\ Is it even worth me asking?

I also have the rough idle issue - but that's not really something I can get fixed - right? I had to splurge and get a May build. I should've waited for the 1.6L EcoBoost too...

Just had it done yesterday - TSB 11-10-02A is what you want. My Focus was built August 9th.
I think that's the "big" update for cars built before August xx. My 12/11 build date car had an update earlier this week that was not part of a TSB, but just one of what I expect will be many "improvements".

I was initially optimistic about the update but my car now seems to have forgotten all it learned in its first 600 miles, so it may be I'm starting over (clutch chatter, unpredictable shifts, etc.).

Best way to avoid the Problems with the "Mexican" DCT is buy it with a Manual from the get go lmao

That's just dumb imo.
How is that just "DUMB"? ... Just cause you have to be smarter and have more coordination to drive a stick [smackbum] Corrected for all the grammar hounds out there [duh]

So, then I guess you wouldn't consider a "Mexican" Focus or Fiesta or a "Mexican" Cadillac SRX either? Keeping in mind the Fusion is the most reliable mid-size car?

To the extent the DCT has had problems they seem to be software-related. I have yet to hear of a failure of the mechanical parts, which is what Getrag manufactures in Mexico.
