My ignition wouldn't turn with the key in. I know this is a common problem so I'm kind of pissed. Thank goodness for warranties huh. Does anyone know how long the job actually takes? Also, my car is the newest I've heard this happen to. Anyone else with an 03 had this problem? Peace out Homeys.

i thought it was a problem with the earlier models (00-01) not newer ones especially a '03. that sucks man. dealership will probably take forever...keep us updated on what the prob is.

Mines an 03, key would turn but couldn't remove it from the ignition. Probably a different problem............Warranty fixed it, one day in the shop.

Ya I thought it was for 2002 and older.
I had mine in the shop 4 days out of 5!!! Check this out.. I let my girlfriend take it out for a bit.. it locked on her.. I hit it real hard and it turned. The next day I got it to the dealership with alot of hitting the key and turning at the same time. They get it fixed 2 days later. Picked it up went back to work and BAM!! it happend again! So I am pissed... they come and get the sucker. Get it back in one day this time. Guess what happend the next time I started my car. Stuck again. I went off on these people and they sent a renta car to my work and payed for it. They said that they got a bad batch of springs. Now it is fine. At least I hope.

wow, that only problem i had with my '00 is the fuel pump, problem free otherwise.

I had this problem on summer, but didn't act up ever since! now without warranty, i am worry man``
I have this problem now. Anyone pay for it. How much? mine usually turns fine but every now then its flip flip flip remove key turn over flip flip flip flip turns thank god it will last one more day. This has been going on for 2 months now.2000FordFocus said:

I got the lock kit for around 100.00 and did it my self. Which i do not recomend unless you really know what you are doing.

About keys... I locked mine in the car one fine Sunday morning, and as you all know, hack saw blades won't open car doors anymore. Always the annoying optimist, I took out my key ring and inserted the key for my trusty '91 Isuzu trooper, jiggled it twice- It turned halfway! I jiggled it a few more times and it turned the rest of the way and the door unlocked! I was shocked... and PLEASED! Whew! Now what are the odds...?[
