Dealer is, but the registration to get the plates etc etc isn't. Nor on a holiday.
C'est la vie. It's not as if it's the end of the world. I didn't expect it for another few weeks, hehe.

My sales rep says he doesn't think VINs are generated before the car is in production. I ordered an optioned out SEL on August 1st, 2011. I had no updates from the dealership until they returned my call the following day after I called them on August 31st.

He says my car has started production, there are now delays, and ETD is end of September, but has no idea about the VIN.

I still have the order print out they gave me with the order number and dealer number. Any way i can find out my VIN?

PM FordCustomerService on this site with the dealer # and order #.

That's bizzare your dealer could tell you a car is being built without a VIN#, how does he know it's your car?

I have no idea. He's a new sales rep, but i don't think that's an excuse. It should be part of his training...

I asked about the late availability of the manual titanium in canada and he knew nothing about it. I knew more about the car than he did, and he even told me i should work for them. Go Figure :S

I don't think any dealer would be able to tell you anything about a manual titanium. They don't tell em shit and their training on the focus is non existent.

your sales rep is full of shit. My car is not scheduled to go into production until the week of 12 sep. I have had my vin for well over a week now.

Well holy crap and thank you Jesus, I have a window sticker! [clap]All the details appear to be correct on my Titanium except for the mysterious Canadian Front Disc, Rear Drum error on the sheet. It also only lists leather bucket seats as part of the extras I bought but I assume that means the whole cars seats. Here is the truly interesting part though, my build date is on - A SATURDAY?

I'm scheduled for September 10th if I read this number right 120110910

The plot thickens.

Congrats man!!! I'm sure the plant runs Saturdays...they're running 2 shifts.

I had questioned Natasha on the drum brake showing under standard equipment and she confirmed it's just a glitch...my titanium indeed has 4 disc brakes!!

Morning all,

I haven't posted for a while but my car is now due at the dealer this coming Friday, 09-September. A little birdie in this forum gave me that information including the rail car # the car is on.
BTW, some of you may remember my L-O-N-G story of ordering the car and how I finally said to the dealer (as I was giving my current ride to a family member who could no longer wait) that I wanted a free loaner till the car came in. The manager said he'd be happy to do so and since Friday of last week I've been driving an '08 Taurus (actually not a bad car for a big, on a relative scale, 4-door; white, tan leather, clean, 47K miles on it, 3.5 liter 263HP V6).

Thanks so much. I was beginning to wonder what was going on - interestingly enough I also got a quote back today from what I read is the best tint shop in the city. Fully ceramic tint for $300 - the problem is getting there in traffic on a weekday. Excitement returns.

Whoa! Nice! Congratulations. Guess the wait a day and check Sat thing worked. I mean, you knew you were getting the car but isn't it still relieving to see the actual window sticker? Kind of validates the order and makes the car seem a little more "real" when you actually see all of it's specs in print. One more step down, a couple to go (ETIS update, syncmyride spec update, and Natasha telling you it is "on its way home").

Hah, I was wondering where you have been lately FirstTimeFordOwner. Good news indeed. You are the last of our little "wave" on this thread (between you and Hillbilly, man oh man did you two hit some exceptions to every rule). Congratulations. You will enjoy it.

Yeah, the build date is what I was really waiting for. I'm heading for Vacation within about a week and I wanted to know what to expect when I got back. You're right, it's very relieving to get the sticker. It didn't technically come on Saturday though, I got it friday night about 11:43pm - thought I'd check one last time for the night...lol

Nice, 11:43. You madman. I'd like to make the statement that you are even more neurotic than I was but alas I cannot honestly do so as I think back on my ADD and window-sticker checking, ETIS checking, syncmyride checking, Natasha PMing, etc.
