Has anyone else ordered/seen a 2012 Focus in Sonic Blue? I have a titanium on order, but I have a feeling I will be one of the first ones with this color.

Yeah the one I took photos of was filthy. It was even dirtier than it looks haha.Man this color is really throwing me for a loop. I looked at it on my phone, decided maybe I didn't like it afterall, then saw it again on my pc and liked it again. I think the dirt was throwing me off. Apparently, I will need to keep this car clean at all times.

Ah, too bad. Well, I can say I certainly like mine now that I actually have it and you are correct, you should see it in person if you are hesitant. All of the pictures on this site and others don't truly reflect it (different lighting, camera qualities, settings, etc.)

I often find that is the case. The vast majority of amateur photo's are lacking in quality/accuracy for one reason or another. So you are correct in that seeing one in person is the only way to judge how it looks to you. I am sure I will see one along the way before I decide whether or not to pull the trigger on one of these or something else.

Here are some pics from my cell phone, i was at a local dealer and they just got an SE hatch in, looks pretty nice, the car is pretty dirty/dusty tho. Some are overcast some are with sun, check it out

No, that is definietely Sonic Blue. I have one. Candy is quite a bit (color is relative I guess but in my opinion it is much) lighter than that.

Looks nothing like Blue Candy. I've seen some Blue Candy shots on here that look like they were taken with cameras that really under exposed or over exposed.

Yea i checked the sticker it said sonic blue, i didnt take a pic of it tho, trust me its sonic, i know the colours well after scouring the web for them

Posted via FF Mobile Yes, but this is in direct sunlight. Ive seen blue candys with overcast conditions and they turn much darker...like the pics Big showed. The paint changes drasticly in different lighting conditions. Anyway its already been cleared up that it is sonic blue. And those pics are very light to, sonic blue can look much darker...even having purple hues depending on how the sun hits it.

I finally went to the dealership to look at the Sonic Blue, and I have to say that I was disappointed.
I went on a sunny day, and right away as soon as I saw it, I saw purple instead of blue. It is a colour that to me isn't sure if it is blue or purple.
I've decided that it just isn't for me. I'm sure that others will love it, and I am not saying it's bad, it just isn't for me. I'm not into that shade.

Looks like whoever got their hands on Kona Blue really got lucky -- From the photos (especialy that one showing the back of the Hatch) -- I have to agree - It looks like a shade of Blue-ish purple.
I find it strange that so many people say that they see hints of purple in the sonic blue at times. I have the sonic blue, and I never see purple in it. I have however, seen hints of purple in the kona blue. I guess that just goes to show how differently everyone can perceive the same color.

Yeah, no doubt. Color is completely subjective. I didn't really notice it but both my son and my wife, independently of each other, said they see a slight purple in it, especially at dusk.
I think the Sonic and Kona both have a bit of 'blurple' in them, the Sonic just being slightly lighter in color/tone than the Kona.
Thanks to everyone who put up pictures of the Sonic, especially comparing sunlight/shade. I think I'm going to stick with SGM when I place my order.
