A lot of power and show (read: over compensation), sweats profusely when pushed hard, gets tired quickly, breaks down often, and in the end, still can't make a **ckin freethrow to save his life!!

yeah, its not like the engine (or any engine for that matter that wants a turbo) is built specifically for turbo... moron [?|]

P.S. - A SRT-4 boosting only 2psi can still pull on a GS-R easily... so there goes ur theory about it being just another neon engine

technically the SRT-4 is better since it has a number behind 3 letter - if it was the SVT5 - it would totally rock


not to mention it would need upgraded brakes, suspension, quaife as well as a bigger displacement engine with a bigger turbo to compete[rolleyes]
 
I raced a Neon R/T before (he challenged me) and I spanked him off the line and just kept on going. By 60mph I was a good two lengths ahead of him. Those things are a joke, I wasn't even going balls to the wall and I beat him easily.
 
i beat r/ts with ease. I have some trouble with srt-4s though. I cant keep up with them unless i spray. I beat one one time at the drag by 0.13 seconds. then i found out his girlfriend was in the car with him. bastards
 
Yeah, dead thread revival, woo~hoo!

I had one run in with an SRT-4. We sort of worked together and beat up on an M3. Me and the SRT-4 were cruising, just two nice black cars rolling side by side. Then he dropped back a little, traffic, and this ghey M3 pulls up trying to run me but I wouldn't bite. Then the SRT-4 pulls up and smokes the crap out of the M3, twice. That's what he gets for trying to run weaker cars and not paying attention to what's lurking in the blind spot of your mirror.

Man, the SRT-4 is too good for us on the straights, but I was rolling against one on a freeway down here and I was staying dead heat with him, just goes to show you either got the power or the handling and if both have one of each, its gonna be a good race.
 
I don't give a f*** whether the SRT-4 can pull on whatever or it makes however much HP. It's still and ugly ass neon and it will always be. I rather pend a few more G's on something with more quality like a WRX or RSX.

I apologize for the language, I'm just fed up with that car that's all. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!!!!!!!!! [boxface]
 
My friend has a srt-4 ive ridden in it its nice but it doesn't make me wanna go out and buy one... im sure with some proper mods with our svt's we can hang with a srt-4 tubro/sc + Nitrous...who knows..im definetly looking into that possibility.
 
I'm not gonna try and be horribly anti-foci here but i defintely would have a hard time dumping the same amount of money into both cars and coming out on top for the svt focus in terms of performance, although the srt-4 seats arent bad the interior does suck but that and overall exterior styling are all subject to personal opinion, you guys bashing the srt-4 for being a neon or saying it sucks, then the svt is just a focus, theres way too many differences between both to say that, i think that car offers incredible value, greater than the svt in terms of just bare bones performance
 
The reason people say "its just a Neon" is because while even the base Focus is a decent car, the Neon is a piece of crap. So while the SRT-4 may be fast, it's a fast piece of crap.

I've been tempted by the SRT-4's lure of cheap speed but in the end I'm always repulsed by the overall crappiness of the car. I just looked at one again recently at the Auto Show in San Francisco and the cheapness is still there. It's the little things, the details - like the subwoofer in the trunk. While the Focus has a nice, integrated, "factory" looking sub, the SRT-4 has a name-brand sub but it looks tacked on as an afterthought, with exposed screws and wiring.
 
oh im with you, ive riden in them, inspected them closely and i proudly own an svt focus but these guys on here talking about take away their turbo or add one to the svt blah blah the srt-4 comes out on top in terms of bare bones performance and if thats all your after then thats all that matters, if i still had my crx, youd see nasty looking seats and a car that lacked tons of fit and finish but i wouldnt care as i left you like 10 car lengths behind in your svt focus and i think thats how most srt 4 owners view everything, so we should just look at peoples wants out of their car and end it there
