it says 230 bhp at 7750 rpms, but can our stock internals even handle that, or will the stage 3 include internals. Cause right now its 7k right?

Our internals CAN'T handle a 7750 rpm, BUT never fear 'cause Cosy thought of that when they through in new pistons, and forged parts.

As far as the super-charger goes that is from Power Tech if I recall correctly. From my understanding PowerTech and Cosworth are related or tied together in some way, shape or form. The SC kit would include injectors, cpu reflash, singe screw roots blower, and the intake mani. If the kit hits production it could retail in the $4k range with an estimated 265 hp figure.
There is a 8 page thread of this SC over on the Jet in the Duratec forum.
Cheers.

Yeh the pics you can see the forged rods and pistons, crank looks stock but should be fine for higher rpms since rods take thebrute of the force. The s/c is from powerworks, which is part of cosworth, not powertech. At least everywhere that Ive looked but I may be looking in the wrong places.

powerworks is part of a different cosworth, cosworth technologies. There are about three different cosworths.

When will it be available on the states?.
I dont think it will be smog (carb) approved? maybe if the cosworth (gods) work their magic then we'll see a carb approved set up...that would be ssssswwwweeeeetttttttt.
It will open up a whole new ball game for the duratec 2.3L .
Lets just keep our fingers crossed.
Greetings to everyone in the forum

Another thing to think about would be the 2.3L engine for the Mazda SHOULD be able to also bolt the SC right up to her. If that was a possibility the market for the SC would more than double.
Just a thought.

WoW!! That engine looks hotttt. I've been waiting for Cosworth to come out with some #'s on their d-power stage 3, and it's looking great so far. Anyone know what the d-power stages retail for? I was going to check the Cosworth site, but it's down for mainenance. Also, what kind of installation times am I looking at for getting stages 1 and 2 done to my 2.3?

Does anyone else besides me think that $1195 for the stage 1 kit is a little outrageous? I mean, seriously, I can buy a CAI, intake manifold, and cpu reflash for way cheaper than that. But hey, I guess we're just paying for the Cosworth name and the new 7100rpm rev limit.

not to mention but if it gets the carb sticker, your dealerships cant touch you

uhh, yeah they can. CARB is just emissions. if the aftermarket part is the cause of the failure the dealer can deny you.

If you break it down into the individual parts the cost is not too high. $700 for the new cast AL. manifold. $200 for CAI, $400 for reflash, add to that the cost of CARB and the R&D that Cos. put into it, finally just the name Cos will add several $$ compared to Joe Blows intake manifold made out of sheet metal.
If you think the Cosworth stuff is expensive try taking a look at what Soob's STi parts run!!! Damn, that stuff really IS expensive.
Cheers.

Sucks that there isnt a supercharger in production for the duratec yet. By the time one does come out its probably going to be for the 2.3 only too. Makes me wish i didnt get myself a focus. Could have just waited and saved up some bucks bought myself a factory supercharged cobalt or something and been happy. Not that Ima chevy fan, only until recently have i even been a domestic compact car fan. But Specs for the cobalt say the 2.2 is going to have 30 and 45 mpg. Makes me wonder is all. I hope they handle for sh** so I can at least kick there a** that way.

Anyway I didnt want to make a new thread for this just curious if anyone feels the same
