I bought a 08 focus of CL for 1000 with 24k. they told me that you need a new transmission, so i got one but the same thing is happening, when the car is off all the gears work normally but when, the car is on you cant put in any gear. Unless you push it and it grinds like crazy and still wont go in, help plz need the car for college...[???:)][:(!][???:)][:(!][???:)][:(!][???:)][:(!]

yea, on mine the internal shift assembly broke. i thought it would be in gear, but id let off the clutch and it would just grind to hell.

Posted via FF MobileThis sounds more like a clutch that isn`t disengaging to me. Who put the new trans. in? How does the clutch feel? If you put it in gear with the engine stopped, can you press the clutch and let the car roll with gear engaged? (that would show disengagement of clutch) Any drag then? (partial disengagement)

How would i check that, that might be it, I also found in the trunk there was the old clutch and a bunch of new pars too. I replaced the master cylinder (it was in trunk) for the clutch and still the same. Cloud in be that the person before me instilled the disk for the clutch backwards???

Posted via FF MobileRecheck my first post on how to tell if it`s a clutch problem, then check out clutch bleeding info. as that is the most likely cause of your problem if clutch isn`t releasing enough...

Ok so when i put it in gear the car doesnt want to roll when i push, and the pedal is soft at the begging, but once you get about half way it get hard after bleeding it, but when i let it sit for about half hour the pedal becomes softer at the end.
