Thanks Vonkaiser. I definitely do some research. but I will keep everyone posted. this thread definitely got chaotic there for a minute

pretty much what it comes down to is what you want... are you happy with 190-205hp? or do you want to be a drag king lol. Lentech makes atx tranny's for our cars that HOLD 500+ HP. Is a boosted Atx fun? lol hell yeah it is. But dont plan on running anymore than 8lbs of boost on your car. thats a "safe" limit for our tranny's

turbo sound good. 8lbs is enough, its a focus so im not trying to murder a lambo. I just want it to be fun. What about kits. what turbo kit or should I stick with fswerks

OK well does anyone know what I need. Lentech tranny, fswerks stage1 kit = 8lb of boost, what else

So I can get a stage 2 and keep it 8? why do you recommend stage 2. what will I need to do with stock tranny

thats my goal as well. my girl is from baltimore so i might be making a trip up there. we will have to hang out n share build stories

^ accually a atx will be faster then a manual. 250hp in a manual vs 250hp in a atx. The atx will win cus it doesn't lose boost during shifts. Unlike a manual does
well yes and no

yes you will not loose boost........ but you have more moving parts, a longer final drive, 4 gears, and a weaker transmission compared to a manual.

Manuals are mostly good for road driving becasue you can put the car into the gear you want.
why can't you do that with an automatic? mine has 1-2-OD button off(3) / on (4)

you dont "need" a lentech tranny unless you plan on going past 8lbs of boost. and i would recomend also getting the stage 2 fswerks kit. And thats it.
while a lentech tranny isn't "needed" i certainly wouldn't want to run any type of boost on a stock automatic its not built for torque except whatever a stock engine produces, you should at least change the valve body to a FRPP one.

as for ATX's being weaker, i find that very hard to believe - are you familiar with the Turbo 400 and what motors it went behind?

i have a 2.0 ATX duratec too and ive been wondering about the boost im glad this was brought up. but as far as shifting an ATX compared to an MTX i always thought the ATX would be faster cuz when the MTX is shifting for that split second your foot is off the gas and on the clutch your no longer going your coasting as were the ATX your shifting wit out letting off....sorry if this has already been said didn read everyting in here lol. i think there should be a 2.0 ATX duratec group started (if there is someone please direct me that way)

I believe Tom has stated that a stock ATX with a Quaife LSD will take some serious HP. If I was drag racing mine, I would do the Quaife plus a Lentec valve body.

maybe i understood wrong last time i was told.. but. i thought you had to CNC mill your ATX to fit the Quaife LSD. I just want to know personally how much *more* HP the VALVE BODY adds along with a TQ converter. MAybe tom will chime in soon :)
