Alright Chris! Finally getting the swap done haha. If you can try buying some of that CRC Freeze Off. It saved my ass on my SVT swap.

Okay the only thing left to take off from the engine to the fire wall is the fuel line. I don't have the tool for that, but Gerald does so we'll do that first thing tomorrow. Gotta do the back to school thing wife my daughter then I'll pull the interior out tonight.

Looks like a fun weekend. I kinda want a Zetec, because it's the only engine with s/c kits, and I like being CARB legal lol.

I have those same orange jack stands!

Hope the swap goes well. Can't wait for the vid when it's all done.

Dash harness will need to be swapped. It's a pain to get the fuel pump wiring, you have to lower the tank to access the plug.
No I wont. I have cut a access hole in the floor. [8D]

Harbor freight jack stands FTW! Yeah I kinda thought about doing a JRSC but I think I'm going to do a mild NA build and leave it at that.

Got everything in today! We swapped the enter harness, put the new motor in, got all the subframe/suspension in and all the fluids. We cranked her up and got her to run but she was leaking fuel. So We stopped and are going to work on it tomorrow.

Also sold my SPi today! Guy called my friend looking for a Zetec and my friend said well I have a SPi and he said I'll take it.

nice...

wish my swap went together that fast...

also wish i had time to stop by yesterday.

She's Alive!!!

Well she's done and running. Drove her around a bit today and got all the kinks worked out. Here is a picture of her after the swap in front of Auto Zone on a trip to get some new spark plugs.

So we saw that monster when we made a trip to the store. But yes, she is done and running. her are some noteable points from the swap.

  • The fuel leak was a miss set O ring. Reset it and its been fine.
  • Couldn't figure out why it wouldn't idle, then found the brake booster vac line was unpluged.
  • We swapped the entire harness. Took the whole car apart basically.
  • Decided to not run the OBX 4-2-1 because the car is way to loud with my current exhaust set up. Plus without the tune it was running as well as it should.
  • Had the shifter cables jammed up by a vacuum line. So it wouldn't shift into 2, 4, or R. Rerouted the vacuum line and no more issues.

I got a few electrical issues to work out. The airbag light is on, as well as the door ajar light. The seat belt alarm is going off even with the belts on. Lastly the dome light isn't working. I think it all has to do with the fact that my car is a 01 and the wiring harness is from a 02. I know Ford changed a lot of the plugs and wire after 01. If you got any ideas on the the issues could be please chime in.

Between Gerald, Brian, and myself we now know how to swap any engine into a Focus, lol. So if you need a engine swap done in Nor Cal we're the guys to get. [hihi]

A huge thanks goes out to Brian and Gerald for the help and to the parts Man Kyle (volcomstone1966). Without Kyle we would have been effed out of a few misc parts.

So I got only a few pictures of the engine in. I will get some more when my new camera gets her this week.

Congrats! That's soooo cool!

Regarding the airbag/seat belt reminder, I had that same issue when swapping over seats into the 04. On the 04, it came with a seat adjustment sensor that the 01 didn't. So I swapped it over, but I still had the issue. So I swapped over the seat belt buckles and that solved it! It was weird as hell, but what year is the ECU from? I'm guessing it's looking for the same sensors that my car was?
