Replacing lock barrel

Hi,

I'm lost as to how to change the lock barrel on a ford focus cl 03.

I've taken the door panel off, the exterior handle, loosened the lock cyclender part, but can't figure out how to get to the lock barrel.

Am i just making it difficult for my self, because there must be an easier alternative?

Thanks

just checked my ford tis, looks like there is a tab to push down then it slides out? if there isn't anything to break try giving it a tap from the inside. the picture does show pushing it out from the inside out.

I assume it is electric central locking......

According to my Haynes manual- after removing all the interior door trim you,
1) Undo the retaining screw from inside the door handle assembly.
2) Unclip and remove the bezel from the lock cylinder.
3) Loosen but do not remove the screw from the inside of the door for the interior handle.
Slide the handle back and pull out from the door. Unclip the door handle seals from the door panel.
Then:
4) Disconnect the electrical connector from the door lock motor.
5) Slacken the three Torx bolts from the lock assembly at the rear edge of the door.
6) Unclip the door lock/reinforcement bracket from the door panel. Manoeuvre the assembly out through the door frame complete with lock mechanism.
7) With the door lock assembly on a work top, unclip the trim from the back of the security shield then undo the two securing screws to remove the door lock.
Reassembly is the reverse, providing you haven't broken bits in the meantime!

Thanks for the replies

The barrel is too big to slide out as the hole is smaller. I thought it was that simple at first.

Thanks niggly for looking. I was following the same route to what you posted. As stupud as it sounds, i can't figure out how to disconnect the electrical lock motor, i don't know if i was pulling on the right connector or not :(

I think you have to remove the whole lock and motor assembly from inside the door and remove the lock barrel on the bench, after removing the anti tamper shield.
