could i take a new civic si or a GTI with my mods?

assuming a GTI (180hp) and the civic SI(160hp) are stock and have manual trans., could my zx3 take it with the following mods?
steeda short shifter, AEM CAI, FC long tube race header, FS flex pipe, no cat, FS exhaust, FC 65mm TB and FC udp kit?

stock for stock you should be able to take a civic si manual...my friend has beat a si with his stock zx3 b4 (with 17's)

as for the GTI i dunno bout that one

IMHO, no, you'll get beat by both. The Jetta will win easily, your mods don't seem to be enough to take the Honda either.

I took my club member's Si to the end of third gear when she was stock and I had an intake and exhaust. But as soon as she added her intake and exhaust, she had me by the end of second. Those cars respond well to bolt-ons.

As far as the beating the GTI goes, sorry man, it ain't gon' happen.

you will beat the si,,,,,but no for the gti , my friend has one, hella fast. oh by the way a gti is a golf not a jetta

yes on the SI, and no on the GTI...............new SI's are really slow!!! i was at the track the other day, and i saw an AUTO zx3 with a short ram intake consistantly running with the SI................

No on the SI and DEFINATELY NO. In my SVT I've walked an si stock at the top of second but the GTI is no joke. You don't have enough mods. Stop wasting your money and go FI.

FI can be the shit, but its hard to keep the $$ around long enough...too tempting to get other mods. I'd say both will beat you, but you'd definately fare better against the SI.

yea i felt the same way, i can hang with the Si but not the GTI. and as for going with FI, i plan on doing the cam shafts and gears then nitrous then turbo. i can see myself getting the turbo within a year

Nitrous with a turbo can be a biach if you arent careful. Definately do it right, or else your engine could go boom...
