i was looking into getting a carbon fiber hatch, for my zx3 but i have found nothing at all, i was woundering if there even is one, if anyone has seen one or has any info. thanks

I would think there would be issues with the weight of the glass. If I'm not mistaken (I might be) carbon fiber is light and strong but is brittle and with the weight of the glass after a couple times closing the hatch or the shock of some bumps/potholes it would give out and the glass would fall out of it. Would be nice, I just don't think it is possible. In case you are interested I have seen C/F hatch covers on e-bay (the little thing that lifts up and down with the hatch so you can't see whats in the hatch, if that makes any sense).

nope, on ebay they do have a CF HATCH!!!, i emailed the guy for a picture, he said they dont have a pic of the hatch on a focus, so i wouldnt buy from them

I agree with Templar, I don't think it could be done with real glass. As I said before I think carbon fiber is brittle so a heavy pain of glass would eventually crack or break the cf peice. Those plastic windows don't look very nice, you can tell they are not really glass.

I saw a CF Hatch on a silver 3 door at the Nopi Nationals. Didnt get to talk to the owner, just saw it.

It's for rally racing and woould be really strong and durable but it's 480euros plus you would have to get it freighted over.
You could contact somone about having a custom one made also and it probably wouldn't be that (im mean in the grand schemem of things) expensive plus if you designed it you could sell the rights to somone who could mass produce it.

yes your right about it being very weak and light....but there are plenty of cars with hatchs that are cf and have the glass....but i bet our rear glass is alot heavier or somthing idk

dude....guys....VIS makes a carbon hatch for the zx3/5. check over at www.visracing.com.
last time i checked, they had a limited run of "platinum series" carbon products out there, that were white with a silver shine.
