there are 150 servers that we have to have to do a secure data wipe (DoD 5220.22-M short 3 pass) on that need to be done by next week. the process can take 6 hrs - 2 days depending on the age of the server and the size of the hard drives in them. the only good thing coming out of this is possible OT.

I wiped drives in servers before. It is easier to take them out of the server, take them apart and destroy the platters. That way you can get the rare earth magnets out of them. Plus, if you destroy track zero with a small straight blade screwdriver, the data can never be read.
