I found a seller on ebay offering a turbo system for the focus.
He is attempting to screw ebay out of their fees by selling it for $650.00 and then telling you you must pay a reserve (not an ebay reserve, but his personal reserve price).
If this is his scam ebay will hold him legally resposible for sending you the parts for the list price?
Ok enough long intro... What is his turbo setup worth.. is it worth the $650 even i know very little about turbo settup and i may prosecute him through ebay thus getting a very cheap turbo...
By the way he is offering about 30 of these things right now...
here are the deetails and the link:

That is either the sweetest deal in the world or the biggest scam of all. Tom sells turbo kits for in the $300+ range.

Damn You! I was just about to call him up and order 10.[mad] [?|] j/k

dude dont fall for that...cmon..this seller has no feedback..you will probably get a hairdryer delivered to your front door...god knows how old that turbo is..and since its a private auction he can fk u if he wants....theirs no way this is legit..a new garrett turbo is worth around 3-400 alone.....save your money and get some proven mods.....no way...if it is true ill give him 2k...email him and ask why its so cheap......tell him to give you that 10dollar nos kit intead[:)~]

Did they take that link down on eBay? I tried the link and it no worky :/ Is this the same product that l88m22vette got on eBay for like > 300? Because I was interested in getting that item that vette did, hope it's not a scam :-(

Cheers!

no, I just got a new T3, not a complete system like that one; I've looked at that one a few times, and although it looks like a good deal, it kinda stinks on ice. I can see doing all the plumbing and crap for $650 (on your own), but can't see a kit for that

Guys if you have not noticed Tom's Turbo Kit is a complete rip off! You can go to any performance shop and get a turbo fab'ed with EVERYTHING for no more then 3 grand installed.
~mike
Itll cost more than that but if you know what your doing a custom turbo kit is the cheapest way to go.

Yeah and then spend anywhere from 500-1000 for the proper tuning. Or you could just be a cool guy and run without it.[rolleyes]

I was told by a "specialized turbo shop" that a custom kit would cost me more than an existing kit... because of the time it would take to design and bend the pipes.
I must add that the guy didn’t look to willing to help me…

It is a scam... but what he is doing is against Ebay policy. He is negotiating the full price outside of ebay in order to receive a greater profit margin by avoiding ebay final value fees. It is not $650, a bid of 650 will be cancled unless you agree to send him more money outside of ebay... the only catch is if you bid $650 and get cacled wrongly ebay will force him to sell or be barred from ebay, he could even be criminaly prosecuted for fraud. Sooooo ebay and the us/uk government may force him to sell people turbo systems for $650.
