As anyone noticed how the driving position on the svt is really high?

I want to know if anybody has bought aftermarket sport/racing seats and it has solved this issue?
does the dash seem to be built and set up too high for aftermarket sport seats?

does anybody noticed some vibration coming from the shifter when the engine is at high rpms?

does anybody tried to isolate the shifter from the shifter base or the shifter base from the transmission to eliminate this? (...? lol...)

thanks

the Focus driving position is like being in a high chair and there's a lot of head room. The SVTF with the European package actually has sport seats in it, made by Recaro...they're awesome

I have some vibrations with high rpm's

IMO the shifter is already isolated from the transmission enough as it is! you can't feel ANY motion from the powertrain thru it unless you're at those really high rpm's.
I wish it was more like a Miata or w.e where the shifter vibrates

I didn't realize how high the sitting position was until sitting in my 240SX's seats (which is currently in storage) just to see the difference. Honestly, it doesn't bother me too much but it is rather truck-ish.

I get vibrations near redline in 2nd gear but not in 1st. I figure the car still goes so it's probably normal. [dunno]

i read an article on the focus rally car and they said they did something to remove the vibration.

yes it is truck-ish

im talking about aftermarket sport seats not the eap recaros. they look high as well.

idk do a search on here for seats like Sparcos or something there's people who do it. It's not relaly worth it because you have to buy a brackets too

yeah if you go with aftermarket seats you need to buy the brackets which can get pretty expensive but on the plus side you will get a better driving position and you will shed some weight too because those stock SVT seats are really heavy

Seems like an appropriate thread to ask - Is there anyway to adjust the height of the seat? I know you can adjust it forwards/backwards, and adjust the angle of the back port, but I've yet to find anything for the height.

Everything on your seat is manual? What does your interior look like? *Every single* SVT came with an electronic driver's seat.

To the OP: I have a Corbeau "racing" seat and it sits a lot lower, I like it. I couldn't stand the stock seat. I bought the Corbeau probably a week after I got the car. I was stupid and went with the Forza or whatever, which is fixed back. I want to eventually get a set of A4s, which recline.

The button was there! [clap]

There is a lever I pull up to slide my seat forwards and backwards and there are two round dials on my right side, and one of those can be turned to adjust the angle of the seat.

This is my interior:

thanks for your feedback

Ya we sit like a suv or something lol. I think it's so we have the same good crash test ratings as other Focis

A buddy of mine bought some Bride Race Seats ... and well ... it actually doesn't feel much lower than the SVT Seats ... maybe need to adjust the bracket some.

But honestly I was comfortable in those seats in terms of being able to look over the dash.

You can't really just go and change driving height unless you have like 6 foot arms because of the way the wheel is. Not to mention the tall dash. You'd probably end up having to extend your legs and I know that even with me, it's uncomfy because of how close I have to sit to the pedals just because the wheel doesn't pull out far enough for me to recline/back up the seat much. I'm not freakishly tall, I'm 6'0" but the driving position can get a little uncomfortable for me. My ankles cramp a little because when I lift off the throttle all the way I've got my foot lifted as far as it will possibly go.

The driving position in the focus isn't sport oriented; in the case of the SVT, it was a comfy commuter car made "sport." It's for old people to sit up straight in. lol
