hey guys so heres my story last night i drove my car it started fine and everything...this morning i got to go to work and the car wont turn over at all..all i got was "CLICK""CLICK""CLICK"...so i was like EFFFF...so i had to toll it out of my driveway and take my moms car to work...long story short..i got home jumper my car, started on the first shot..but now the altinator whines very loudly.....so i went to my g/fs house (dads a mechanic) and he put it on the volt meter and every thing was where it was spostto be a nice solid 14 volts....we did notice tho that the power steering cap was loose and fluid happened to leak down the side of the resevoir onto the serpentine belt.....he thinks the belt was slipping and wasnt charging the battery....does anyone have any thoughts???? should i ge a new altinator or what???
 
it wont slip on an alternator with little resistance, itd slip on say the power steering, a/c if its on, mine made a whine when my rectifier bridge went bad (diodes) required a new alternator. id did put out 14 volts, but there was too much ac voltage at the battery

i figured out why it died!!!!! i went and checked my car right now to see if it would start and i noticed a blue glow coming from my car and it was the map light!!!!! i looked at the roof light switch and it was set to door....so i pressed the door jam button in and nothing happened it didnt go out.....so i guess that button it broken??? and my alternator doesnt whine anymore either
