not sure where to post this but since i own an 05 st ill do it here... simple question. anyone ever use any kind of launch control or heard of a set up that would work on a focus? i havent come across any.

just thinking out loud but if you can adjust rev limit in neutral....
would it work if you were to wire in another neutral switch and place a push-switch at the bottom of the clutch pedal....now you can engage yourself in 1st gear, with the clutch pedal all the way down the car thinks your in Neutral making your rev limit whatever you set it...now with some good timing the instant you take ur foot off the clutch u will resume normal driving rev limit and you should be able to punch it....
this is all assuming there is a neutral switch...im not entirely sure if manual cars come with them

There is a launch controle in the SCT software for mose Focus , I wont do them because they are abusive to the drivetrain, this is a fuel cut and I dont like that much eather

hey guys, i wanna spend some money just to get the car to do something retarted and not beneficial in anyway... anyone know where i can do this?
as far as the launch control, ive heard of 2 foci with it, and its basically a race application.
and as far as fire, a launch control wont get your car to shoot fire, espicially sinse your car isnt modified that much. you would need probably a turbo'd engine with lots of fuel

its not a negative comment. i was responding to the idea of what you stated... you want a launch control so you can "try" to have your focus shoot fire.
the basic idea around this type of stuff is posted alot on here and gets tiring.
if you want to shoot flames get a flame kit from autoloc, if you want to race competitively and shave some tenths off your et, then you can try a launch control.

I drive an ST as well and I find that a nice launch from about 2750-3000rpms works decently well... not too much wheel spin and it pulls nicely.
Actually u could possibly have it tuned to do it since race cars do it mainly because of over fueling during a shift (and how timing is set). Ever hear a turbo car that sounds like a 12 guage going off when it shifts? Its because it is feeding it tons of fuel and when when they shift, boost blows off as its still fueling alot, causing a super rich event in the manifold that goes pop!

how would it be hard on the drivetrain? Isn't just basically a lowered fuel cut? I agree with the hard on the drivetrain cause hard launches do that, but im confused on your 2nd part

Alot of ppl cant drive. they get a 2step (launch control) and they hold it at whatever rpm and just drop the clutch and they wonder why there shit breaks. i can gaurentee there are only a couple of ppl that know how to preload our foci suspension and accurrately know how much to slip the clutch without burning it to do a successful launch

are you trying to get your car to launch like evos do? its part of their two step that the 8s and 9s are programed to do. idk if anyone has tried to set their stuff up to launch like that though.

LOL Chris but actually yes our cars can launch like a evo. 60ft time wise (dont get confused) but econorocket was pulling 1.7 60fts
