does anyone know a good decent priced STS thats for the 6 speed cause i cannot find one any where even ebay i dont trust cause they dont specify if its for 6 or 5

how much do you need to cut off the stock shifter to get it down to the FC length?

I thought about cutting down my stock shifter to the FC height just to play around with it. I'm sure any machine shop could do it. I got my CFM but have not installed it yet, i'm worried about the cables over the long haul, do they get out of adjustment over time to where you loose gears? I have to say that right now i am fairly happy with my Steeda/Ford Racing STS, its been in my car for 4 years with zero problems.

The standard model shifter that you said you ordered earlier won't work on the SVTF...
You need this one if you're going to use the CFM shifter:

And, I've never had to adjust my cables at all.
