Should I unplug the battery so it can relearn it's idle with the new intake, or should I just let it adjust itself without unplugging it ?

no it wont, the only thing that ive found it does is that it changes my bass/treble back to normal, but all sync info and preset radio stations stay the same. you should disonnect the battery for any engine or electrical work, just to be on the safe side, it takes only 30 seconds.
