Any idea on the torque the engine was making? How much boost were you running?

I dont know the TQ exactly never could get it , I had the ATX in there and it flashed the converter so fast that it wouldnt record the TQ , I had dynojet calculate it for me one time but it has been a few years now and I really dont remember as I am not 100% on the TQ or boost so if i post the boost even one pound off the vulturs hovering over this thread will be on it like streetracer/gemini47 on a 1turbofocus post

Tom

As far as the boost what range are we talking about? 35-40 psi? 40-45psi? 45-50psi?
50+? You should definetly have some idea. I would love to have that kind of power, but I am still skeptical about a fairly mild zetec motor on race gas putting out those numbers.

I can remember a time when I was told 200 couldnt be done on the stock engine to , Maybe you should try it and see how far you can go before being skeptical about what others have already done

I hate to be a streetracer/gemini47 but your descriptions could not be any more vague.
I would love to try and make that power, but I know its just not feasible with those modifications. I know you hate when people compare the zetec to a honda because the b-series is a better motor, but it takes 50psi boost and 100psi base fuel pressure with 1000cc injectors to break 700whp on a b-series.

If you were running the aeromotive pump, it can't even handle 100psi base fuel pressure and then 50lbs of boost on top of that, as proven time and again it runs out of breath.

Now how you accomplished 723whp with an inferior engine, with a turbo which may only be a 3-4 years old, but is nowhere near the technology of what we have now and a fuel pump that would struggle, is beyond me. You can believe what you want and I will believe what I already know.

This thread is like a bad game of king of the hill.

What good is going to come from all of this?
some answers to the questions that get asked for one. aside from that, some good discussion.

not everyone here knows everything, i know i don't. i had no idea about any of these dyno charts and videos a couple of weeks ago. why not post this kind of stuff up. do you have any idea the amount of lurkers there are out there that are just reading and not posting? i lurked for a very long time before i registered.

Tom
I remember when they told me that 275 wasnt doable on 93 octane and that 300 was unobtainable on 93 (stock motor)....... glad I didnt stop at 300 or my motor would have toasted itself [poke]

You have a lot to learn and that may be why it has taken you years to do nothing with your Focus and it being one of the nicest one around with some of the best parts , Maybe you should try it before saying it cannot be done and your right this isnt a Honda

I dont have to beleive it I did it , you can dream about doing it because you wont ever get there

How can anyone believe you with that meaningless dyno that was posted. Hp over elapsed time, come on now. Why wont you even mention the torque that you calculated? Or how much boost? If the dyno couldnt even get you an accurate torque reading, how do you know the hp was accurate? Plenty of automatic cars making higher hp dont have problems getting readings. I find it very strange, no matter how many times people talk of your 723hp Focus, you never mention the entire setup or specs. I did not say it cannot be done, but not with the parts you claimed you used.

Dude before you get gun down on here.[gunfire]

Tom used all aftermarket parts
The whole engine was aftermarket parts.
gearbox and driveline was all lentech LSD etc

The stock motor is only good for 250WHp
The block is good for 500whp then if you want more hp then you have to go to a WRC cgi block

I told my v8supercar engine build who building my engine how much whp I have stock and right off the bat he told me your injectors are good for 150whp
My point is engine builder should have some idea where things should be like hp, torque, boost etc

I don't have dream about making my Focus look like a WRC Focus because I'm doing something about it. WRC front bumper is on its way[hihi]

I know what he used, but he still wont list:
Turbo specs, wheel diameter, trim etc anything...
Amount of boost to make that power, not even a ball park...
He wont even mention the torque.
You can easily figure out what power the motor will make if he did, so thats why he is not listing it. The injectors and fuel pump he used are a dead giveaway already.

Exactly^^^

Why should he tell you the what's, why's, and how's? Find out the hard way, like he did, and go(try to) build your own already. Do you really believe that he should just give you all the answers?

i have Tom's dyno. I have seen parts from the engine and what happens to the stock crank when you go for 800, lol. but he said no so no [neener]

Tom has proven his abilities plenty of times. my car was one of them... and it will be again as soon as the turbo v8 needs a tune.
