I'm thinking of getting the FS CAI today

I know the weather here in Houston sucks.. Specially during Spring and Summer

it gets humid and wet alot

Any problems with Hydrolocking?

And then most of the time it's really hot also

so any problems with Heat soaking on SRI?

I have heard a few guys in Texas that Hydro lock because of the Dips in the street when it rains.

As for Heat Soak. It really isn't as bad as you are probably thinking.

everyone always talks about hydrolocking with a CAI but i never had that problem in my CRX. i had a full CAI with removed inside fender wells(not by choice). every time it rained my tires would soak the crap out off the the filter. it would bog down and a big white cloud of smoke would pour out of the pipe for a couple seconds then it would be fine. after it dried it never did it again. eh.

and the heat isnt as bad as you think. its better to go to the track at night anyways. ;)

normal rain days shouldnt hurt it. just try to stay away from high standing water and as long as you dont submerge the filter in water, you should be alright.

How high up is the FS CAI? is it at a good distance from the ground?

I would say it fits about an inch to a half an inch above the front drivers lower part of the fender.

Now if I remember correctly they have a Hydro-lock mechanism that helps with this issue ... I know that AEM has a CAI with that part ... but not sure of FS version. You should call them and see what they suggest.

is there a performance differential in steeda SRI and FS CAI?

prob... but the peace at mind would prob do it for you if you're worried about hydrolock. it has a heat shield so its really the best of both worlds.

I'm gonna get the FS CAI

the steeda seems good but it reminds too much of the stock filter and the heatshield seems like it would drain some HP

The FS filter is facing up so it seems it would be pretty hard to get water in there

ima press my luck with the FS cai

Good luck with it. That's the one with the ITG filter at the end right?
