I've got a 04' 2.3L Focus. I'm very new to the Focus world even after owning this car for a year or so now. The car is our 'gas saver comuter'. I had read on here once about using a longer oil filter to increase the motor's volume and the benifits that it would bring.
So a couple of monthes ago my wife drives into a parking lot too quickly and bumps one of those concrete stops. No bigge, right? Well, it was enough to push the longer oil filter back towards the cab of the Focus. The oil filter crushed back leaving about a 1/4' of a gap up at the threads. My wife not noticing, finished shopping drove the car for about 5 miles until the car just 'turned off' as she puts it. The motor siezed...no oil.[scratch]
Ok so I just picked-up a another 04' 2.3L w/ only 22k on it for $350 bucks[wiggle]
Question is: I wondering if there is anything I could/should do while the new motor is in the garage on a stand that would make the motor 'better'. Not intered in speed, just reilabilty and gas mileage. Any Suggestions??
Thanks for your help!![cheers]
