I recieved my Eiback sway bar kit from C-F-M today. Emidiately after opening the box the first thing I checked was the bushings as I knew there have been problems with the front bushings being too loose. Well.. One of the front bushings is too loose by maybe a mm or two, and the other.. well it's about 4-5mm too small! The 4-5mm is the gap between the cut edges of the bushing. Of course the rear bushings were fine, and the install was ok. So I'll be hoping to get a hold of someone from Eibach to get the correct bushings! I'll try to have some pictures up tomorrow.

I'm not sure with the bushing being loose by around a mm to be a big deal because it will be clamped down tightly. Now, the other that is small should definitely be replaced by Eibach.

Yup. Thats what happens. Its ok if the bushing is a bit too small. Thats how pretty much all of them are. Its the ones that are too big that you have to worry about. Email or call Eibach and complain. They should send you a new set.

Edit: Its always the ones that are too big that are the problem. If you can put the bushing around the bar, clamp it down with your hands a bit and still get movement up and down with the bar, it won't be solved with just putting it in the bushing clamp in the subframe and torqueing it down. Because the bushing has a slot that opens up to accept the bar, these two ends will be pushed very hard together and distort the whole bushing without actually putting any pressure on the swaybar itself. Bad scenario. The one that is "small" is going to be fine. Its how my H&R bushings are and they work just fine.

^^ 4-5mm to small is ok? Hm. Well I cant install it w/o the other bushing and I would hope that they would send me two new ones.

Here are the pictures.

Note after closely looking at what I received this is what I have found; that one bushing seems dirty and the other doesn't, one has small ribs inside while the other is smooth and the notches on the outside are different sizes, one has a small gap where it is too large, and the other is to small, there are scratches on the front sway bar also.

Ok the guy from Eibach called me back while I was getting ^that together. After he took my part number aparently I have the Germany made bar which according to him is 1-2mm smaller than the bar they make in the U.S. Both bushings have a different part number, one of the part numbers didn't even "exist" on his computer.

Btw the one that is to small is the one he couldn't find on his computer.

^Yeah no problem. Thanks. Maybe after a few months people would have already bought all the bad sets and the new ones will be completely out for sale.

thanks for the write up, i was thinking about ordering a set of these, let us know how they work!

BTW, +1 for you

Will do. Thanks. He said that he would look for the right bushings to my car and then shave them to fit my bar. But after thinking about it I want the U.S. made bar. This bar that I have according to him saying 1-2mm smaller is either a 20mmbar or a 21mm bar, Which is 1mm smaller or the same size bar that I currently have. I need a little bit stiffer front bar to complement the 25mmR bar.

Well, I was told that this guys manager would be back around 30 minuets this was at 1:15 and I'm sure they're closed now and I've never got a call back about them switching bars for me. I'll have to see what happens tomorrow.

Managed to get Mikes last swaybar kit and it looks like I'm in the same boat your're in except both my front bushings are the same and oversized. The "dirty" bushing looks like a real oddball because of the bracket alignment hump is bigger than its supposed to be. I'm very interested in what Eibach has to say, so keep us updated please and thanks for posting this up.

BTW the rear sway bar couldn't have gone on any easier and has made a big difference in handling. Reinforcing the rear arms was the biggest wait but at least my bolts weren't seized so that saved many headaches. (Thank You Las Vegas! [thumb])

I have had issues with bushings over the past 12 months since installing the Eibach sways in my SVT...have replaced about four sets which has yet to solve the problem. There are two new sets of bushing sitting around because I was not about to continue paying to have them installed and finding something wrong with one etc. Now I got a e mail address to someone higher up on the food chain at Eibach who said all the bars and bushings where pulled out of stock and checked for size, only finding a few bushings that are out of spec which I found rather funny considering..a new set of bushing had been shipped to me recently that are suppose to fit correctly. So to make a long story short I feel that Eibach fed me a line of BS,they avoided almost all the attempt my shop made in contacting them among a few other things I will not get into. For all who are interested here is information to contact Christain Sebrella,VP of Operations & Engineering at Eibach....e mail csebralla@eibach.com,phone 1 (951) 256-8300 & 1 (951) 256-8319. Hope this helps everyone who has been having bushing issues, think he would love to here from everyone who is not happy.

^^ Thank you. If things do not go they way I'd like and see fit I'll probably contact him. As far as installing those bushings, I'd have Eibach pay for it. It's their mistake many times not yours, so they should pay for their mistakes.

I decided to go a head and e-mail him. I gave him the address to the post to give him all the information he needs. I hope this gets things resolved quickly and painlessly.

In my first e mail to Mr.Sebrilla I brought up how much was spent on changing these bushings total and not wanting of feeling anymore cash should come out of my pocket..just got another set of bushings and nothing else. This is why I posted the contact info in hopes everyone who has problems with Eibach will contact them and voice how unhappy they are etc. Want this to spread through out the net if possible to all car fanatics.

Ok guys, everything for me should be fixed, for me anyway. As to the rest of you who are having problems Christian seems to be a great guy. He asked no question of me or anything. I'll be very satisfied with this when the tech guy calls me.

Exact quote:

"Hello Adam

Our tech guys will get with you today and arrange the exchange of the bars. We have the US bar and the correct bushing in stock.

Best regards

Christian"
