ok, so a detailer broke my shorty antenna off my car by accident. the stud from the mast broke in half. half is in the mast assembly on the room. the other half was in the antenna. i got the piece outta my antenna, now to fix the base. it doesnt seem to come out. we tried drilling and reversing it out and it will not move. so im guessing that mast replacement is needed. i have a donor base assembly in another car. has anyone replaced one yet? do i have to lower the headliner or is it possible to somehow remove the map light assembly and sneak in that way?

i just searched focus hacks. ill stop being lazy and walk 100 feet to my foed dealership and ask one of my ford technicians

This is so easy. I got a piece from the junkyard. They gave it to me since it was so small. If you go online there is a how too. I figured it out on my own. Just pop your dome light off. Look up, you will see the screw. I seriously did this all in minutes. But you do need to replace the hole base. Not the plastic piece, but the metal inside. Trust me, I felt like an idiot tryin to drill out the piece. Its all one ppiece so that wouldnt work. Ofcourse I didnt know that. Hope this helps.

i have had to replace mine twice:
pop out the dome light, and look up, and you will see a torq screw. just unscrew that and the base will come off watch out for the screw it can fall out very easy. now go out side and just pull off the broken base and replace with a new base....and back inside to put the screw in and tighten... you have just replaced your antenna base!!!!
