I have seen one JRSC that had extensive machine work done to it, they routed the boost out of the blower to an intercooler then back into the blower so they could use the supplied manifold. At the time the machine work and custom fabbing cost around $1500 ..... which in my opinion is more than the gains are worth.

So to answer the question yes it can be done , but it's going to be expensive.

hence a waste of money...why spend the money when you wont make the power you want.[dunno]

first of all 2000 will give you the JRSC with a wideband and tuning. And for you to camm a zetec and shave the head properly that would be just as much if not more then a JRSC.
You are right the upgradeability is shitty. but wmi is only 500 bucks and its not even necessary unless you are gunna beat the car at a track or somthing.
you are entitled to your opinion but i disagree. I dont think it is a waste of money.

there is no way you can get a complete JRSC with a full wideband and tuning...maybe slightly on the north side. 2200-2300ish.

to cam a car with a shaved head would be more no then 1100-1200 if you do it yourself and have the head shaved by a machine shop. then a tune is 400. so 1600.

i just dont see spending 2k on something i wouldnt enjoy more then cams. i would rather spend more and get a PWSC and enjoy it all day long.

i got the JRSC BBK for 1400 wideband for 220 and toms tune is 450.....
but you are right camming the zetec would be a bit cheaper.... but not quite as powerful
edit... and those are shipped prices to canada

ah ok...its still hard to get that kind of price on it. however its hard to find a powerworks period.

we can both agree on that! not gunna lie wish i could afford a power works or pro-charger but not gunna happen. plus that kind of power for a DD is enough, if i break the 14sec mark i will be happy.
plus its not that hard to sell a JRSBBK and get most of the money back....

dude, if you know how to drive, you will break into the 14's!! i did it NA!! lol u'll do it for sure!

yea but you did it NA with a pretty stripped car lol. I know i should be able to do it but i gotta get the blower on first lol...

If you are happy with 170-180, The JRSC is just fine, if you want more, then buy another blower / turbo.. The idea has been tried here numerous times, its far to much work to custom make one, the PWSC will make 50 more HP for not a lot more money.

The JRSC is fine if you pick it up inexpensivly enough and are happy with 170 HP. I"ve driven them, they are decent, but pale in comparison to the bigger blowers / turbo... You might squeek out 10-20 more HP with alot of work, but its really not worth the time and effort. Not trying to rain on anyones parade, I am not really a Jackson hater, it is fine, for what it is, but as someone said, don't try to turn a hawk into an eagle.

Water meth is your only simple choice for the Jackson...as said, don't tune for it, just use it when the heat is creeping up. The M45 really was too small, Jackson original tried the M62, and used it on the SVT , but the C.A.R.B. laws at the time forced the use of the M45. So, there you have an "undersized" blower for a 2.0

Oh, the other thing is. Blowers don't like to suck their air through lots of hose over a distance, so the front mount is a bad idea in that respect as well.

Just a side note, I'm happy with my JRSC. Two reasons: it's safe - won't overboost the engine, and you can keep stock components as is.

Honestly, if I want big power, I'd look at the 2003 SVT Cobra; in which I am next year.

As far as an intercooler goes, I wish there was that option.

There actually is of sorts. but being in iraq right now its kinda hard to test the design i have using co2. It wouldnt be an on all the time system, but when needed it would certainly do the job efficiently and cheaply.
then again, this is for an svt, so the design would have to be redone for the m45.
wmi is another good route thats fairly cheap.
some have also used a small shot of nitrous to cool the intake charge with great results.
Just need to think outside the box others have created.

yea i have considered later adding a small shot of nitrous (35) for track use, but the money i would spend on a nitrous setup i could sell the jrsc and start a turbo build lol. plus im not really looking for that much power...yet
