im a person of random, randomness lol thats what came into my head at the moment

how did you hollow out the cat?
well i removed the cat from the flex pipe and exhaust manifold then you get a long thick flathead screwdriver or pry bar something not much thicker then an inch around and with a hammer you tap out all the fiberglass and ceramic grid plates inside by breaking them up and turning it upside down every so often to pour it out there is about 5 six layers of these ceramic screen plates so keep tapping them out by breaking the middle and gently off the sides so you dont dent or puncture a hole the in the actual shell of the cat and thats it reinstall
and if you missed any trust me it will blow out the back when you fire up your engine or rattle like a B**ch

lol ok was it hard to remove the cat, im probably going to do this while im waiting on my orp to be made, thnaks
knox
um well seing you have the same car i do its not really that easy but patience makes it easier
your gonna need to remove the exhaust manifold (header) heat shield which is like three bolts(2 up top and one in middle) then you wanna unscrew the to brackets holding a thin black tube running across the header. then fold the thin black tube running across the header to the front of the car(be careful doing this do it slowly as not to break it) then for the hard part you need to unscrew the EGR (fat tube going into the header) its really hard because you need to wrench it off at a hard angle (i did mine fom underneath the car little turns at a time) then remove the bolts holding the the header to the CAT, then the bracket that goes round the cat in the middle need to be taken off then remove the cat from the flex pipe and you should be good

if this didnt explain it good enough i think their is a how to section on installing header and the beginning should have how to remove stock exhaust manifold and cat

Good luck Knox!

thanks bro im going to to this lucky for me i left my heat shield off lol did it throw a code or drive funny afterwards, sorry to keep bothering you, thanks for the info
yes yes thanks for reminding me
you will throw a code
make sure on the bottom O2 sensor you put a spark plug gapper in between the cat and the "sniffer" O2 sensor because the bottom O2 sensor is not used to the increased volume of gases or heat that would normally make it to the O2 sensor when your cat still contains the "crap" in it

they are like $2.00 dollars at your auto store

i will never ever attempt to take the cat off again without a digrinder so i can cut the egr tube and weld it closed, im covered in some kind of itchy dust and my eyes burn lol i sat there and broke shit out of it for a good 2 hours and probably got half way through and just said f this blew it all out clean made sure i could blow air in one side and feel it on the other and put it back on.

EGR: this thing was a bitch i couldnt get it off at the header so i unbolted it at the valve its self and just fanagled the whole tube out with the cat, im going tomorrow to have my svt header put on, but i have to drive a good 30 minutes to do so so i will have to wait like an hour to let it cool, ill let u know how it sounds compaired to our hollowed out cats, thanks for all the info

knox

haha the EGR is a mother[:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)] man ALOT of people on here end up sawing it off and plugging it up but you need a tuner to turn off the EGR

well thats hell of alot of work lol just to get your header on tomorrow haha

good luck

you know whats funny i actually have a 4-2-1 long tube header now since june and i cant afford the flex pipe yet to put it on
