The top engine mount looks stock, is it a stock Cougar mount? Are you doing anything to limit engine movement? It looks like there isnt much room for torque twist. Is the battery going in the trunk.

Looks great, good luck with the wiring, thats the hardest part. BTW, did you have to do any cutting and welding?

Is the 2.5 Cougar/Contour engine the same block as a 3.0 Taurus? hmmmm.....

Lil Red...........Yes we are......I belive we met at Carlisle(we were the ones with the 2 Foci with working SVT Intakes on Zetecs) we were also hanging around with Tony @ Newedge.........

Whats the deal with the SVT intake working on a Zetec. Explain that for me. Like what parts of the intake.

We've mated a Duel Runner Intake Manifold from an SVT to a regular Zetec......then have them switch runner lengths..........continuous power all the way to 7700 RPMs, unlike the stock manis that crap out around 5500, but that was another thread all together.....

It's Done!!!!!

Well we finished it up last night(minus exhaust)........we took it around the parking lot last night and it was a monster.........very tourqe friendly.........I had pics but my camera took a dump(should have some up tomm)........my exhaust guy will be back in on Monday and we'll set up an appointment to get the Y Pipe made..........All the work was done by v8focus1(he knows his foci and now he's forced to know cougars).....it just boggles my mind that we finished a build like this in such little time........just proves you don't have to be a big company or someone with tons or money...........So a final Tally........

Build Time.........1 Week
Build Hours.......50 hours
Freebies...........All the Labor
Parts.................$600.00

Total Price Tag before exhaust.........$600.00

So Class, in this equation.......$600.00 = ONE BAD FOCUS [:D] [:D] [:D]

IMO i would just keep the I-4 and work with it. a powerfull FWD V6 is no thx. I do admire the work and keep going I can't wait to see the finished product.

Holy crap please tell me how you pulled all this off with just $600 dollars. PM me if you dont want to share with everyone I just have to know.

wow... that is really impressive. I'm so jealous and to think you did it so fast. I give you credit, and if you're feeling up to it, a little more on how you did it for so cheap(I think when I buy my next car I might want to try this) depends on difficulty.

Thats the same block for the SVTC. I have an extra long block and trans when the trans rips apart. It will rip apart. But yah looks good so far and don't forget to weld your cam gears in place also and make sure you double check your timeing chain for extra slack. Tensioners tend to fail on that motor for some reason. Look at this I'm starting to sound negetive about it, sorry. Looks great and have lots of fun.

Cam gears? Tensioners? What in Gods name are you talking about?

The main thing you want to keep in mind is that the 2.5 heads lack a much needed oil drain, which has led to the death of many a Contour/Cougar engine(spun bearing). Make sure your are religious about checking your oil levels, even keeping it a tad above spec.

The 3.0 Taurus/Sable/Escape block with the 2.5 heads, intake etc is a very popular swap among Contour owners as well. They are dirt cheap, show a pretty decent hp increase and the 3.0/2.5 hybrid takes to mods better than the 2.5. Just something to think about for down the road[;)]

Very unique ride you have there now. How does it drive on the highway? Any vibrations or did everything go togeather smoothly? I am alway curious how things are going to affect the car.
